Until Dawn - Sam Giddings x Fem!Reader
A/n: I know the until dawn fandom is kinda dead but honestly Until Dawn isn’t dead for me aha (it scared younger me so much its engraved in my brain) so I’m posting this for me... little update: I have revision to do and things to stress out over with added writers block - I can’t finish a fic to save my life... ENJOY THIS ATTEMPT AT A FIC... I just really love Sam... ( I even have an entire backstory for the reader like ooop where’s this coming from??)
To say that Sam liked the outdoors was an understatement as she happily hiked up the hills and climbed the cliffs that overlooked the town she and her friends lived in before she paused, a colour different from the green of the trees, the grey of the rocks and the brown of the soil catching her attention. A (f/c) backpack caught her attention before Sam paced over to it, picking it up with interest before she spotted the small camera case inside. “A photographer huh?” She mumbled to herself before a clicking echoed in her eardrums.
Sam turned around, glancing towards the cliffs edge as she spotted you standing near the edge, taking photos of the town below you. She waited until you’d moved away from the edge to speak. “Hi, I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before but I’m Samantha Giddings but my friends call me Sam.” You paused for a moment as you walked away from the edge, letting your camera rest around your neck.
“That’s because I just moved here recently, my name’s Y/n nice to meet you.” You replied, putting your hand out in a polite gesture. Sam smiled as she shook your hand in response. “There’s only one high school in this town right?” You suddenly asked causing Sam to raise an eyebrow. “Yeah I’m a senior there…” You were quiet for a moment as Sam began to look around for hidden paths or extra places to explore. “I start Monday…” You replied, trying to be mysterious which caused Sam to roll her eyes, accompanied by a small smile. “Take any good photos of the view?” Sam questioned causing you to tilt your head to the side before removing your camera from your neck to show her your photos. Sam smiled as she gently looked through them, smiling at the nature photos and photos of the view you’d taken.
You smiled as you watched Sam smile, a strange feeling in your stomach, almost like butterflies causing your smile to drop for a brief second. You’d only just met Sam and knew nothing about her yet… your stomach wasn’t lying…maybe you just needed something to eat. “You okay? You’ve got bright red?” Sam questioned concerned as she looks up from your camera’s screen. “Wha-uh yeah I’m fine…just a bit warm…” You replied before realising what you’d just said. “It’s January?” Sam replies, giving you a confused look.
“Too many layers…” You replied, undoing your denim jacket before Sam passed your camera back. “The photos are amazing by the way…damn it’s getting close to sunset…” Sam stated causing you to turn around, beginning to take photos as the sky transformed from blue to yellow and orange.
“We better start going back down, the lights are only on the paths and staying up here at night isn’t safe…I’ll walk you back down to make sure you’re safe.” Sam states, gently nudging you to put down your camera and to get walking. You smiled as you walked besides Sam back down into town.
Sam smiled as she glanced at you every once in a while, an almost innocent aura surrounded you as you glanced around the unfamiliar town, the two of you walking the streets as you only knew your way home so Sam gave you a quick tour of the town leading back to your house. “This is me…” You mumbled, standing on the porch. Sam tilted her head to the side in observation. “Your family in?” She questioned causing you to tense.
“I live with my older brother…he’s in.” You explained, quietly glancing at the garage causing Sam to just nod. “So maybe I’ll see you Monday…I have to go now I have a girls’ night with my friends…but here…” Sam replied, passing you her phone. You raised an eyebrow at the lock-screen, a feeling almost like jealously overwhelming you as she unlocked the phone, allowing you to enter your name and number before she sent a text to your phone. You smiled as you entered the contact to your list before you jumped, a car horn distracting you as a fancy car showed up. “Come on Sam, girls’ night, you’re already late!” A girl’s voice shouted causing Sam to smile awkwardly at you before she walked to the car waving.
“So who’s that? Give me all the details Samantha.” Jess joked causing Sam to roll her eyes. “Someone…” Sam replied causing Ashley to raise an eyebrow as Emily drove to Sam’s shock and amusement. “Someone special?” Beth teased causing Hannah to giggle as Sam flushed red. “I only just met her jeez guys thanks.” Sam replied as they all arrived at Beth and Hannah’s house.
You let out a sigh as you watched the car with Sam in drive away, your brother opening the door with an amused look on his face. “Love at first sight huh?” He asked causing your face to glow red. “Shut-up!” You squealed, covering your face as you walked into the house, tripping over a box of items in the process as your brother closed and locked the front door, going back to unpacking.
