Chapter One: ENDINGS AND BEGINNINGS

Summary: Academy students took exams to graduate to Genin. They took exams, pitched against their fellows and foreign-nin alike, to earn a Chuunin vest. It took time, dedication, and experience to achieve a promotion to Tokubetsu, let alone Jounin. It took an impressive mission history and a Bounty reputation to be known as an Elite.

ANBU was different. You didn't 'aim' for ANBU.

They called.

I was reading through the past asks and oh my god rossi’s first comment about JJ always pissed me off so much! I love that Hotch stomps that out right away, but tbh I wish Hotch, as both a man and the person literally in charge, would call out rossi and morgan for their sexism more. Morgan i have more lenience for because he does show respect for JJ and Emily but early season Rossi needed to be humbled lmao

Yeah, I think it's good that Hotch never participated in the sexism (mostly), but he doesn't actively stop it in the other men. It shouldn't be on the women to stop all the sexism. Men have to talk to other men about it, too.

The Shisui/? has me going nuts! I would've leaned towards Shisui/Tenzo in the first installment of Hope AU, but Kisame and Shisui are just So Damn Compelling!

Lmao I tagged the pairing (does '?' count 🤭) from the get-go because I wanted the readers to know that Shisui would eventually have romance and I didn't know at that point if I would be splitting the arcs into separate parts. But it was admittedly really funny in the last few chapters of NoT to see everyone scramble like "IS IT KAKASHI? IS KAKASHI GONNA SEE DANZO'S BODY AND KISS SHISUI??? WILL IT BE AT SHISUI'S BIRTHDAY PARTY? HELP" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 like nooooo it's not in this part I'm sorry I was trying to signpost too soon

As for the pairings people are petitioning for in the comments section... I'm loving it, it's so amazing to see people getting passionate (but always good natured and receptive to what I do have planned) over who they like best and sharing ideas that come into their heads

I'm not gonna give clues but - and this is NOT ruling Tenzo out - I do think people should know that Tenzo is Like That. As in, almost everyone is a little in love with him, Shisui is not alone in his softness by a long shot, because I just think Tenzo is like... A soft spot for Tenzo is a god-damned right of passage 😅

I'm so so chuffed with the response people have had to Kisame, people were so iffy about friendship and now they're on board the "Speedy Fish" ship lmao amazing

Watch me fuck around and throw in another curve ball in part three 🤣 god knows me and Katlou303 have a good cackle any time anyone so much as glances at Shisui with appreciation
