"do you trust me?"
Alexandra looked up at the boy. She was confused and surprised by the sudden unexpected question and was unsure how to answer that question. She had no idea who he was and they had just met, yet at the same time there was something about him that made her feel secure. “I don’t know if I should, we did just meet after all.”
❝Why you gotta be so mean?❞
♞ -“It’s my natural state, sadly. I can no more quit being mean then water can quit being wet.” With that said, however, mismatched eyes blinked at the accidental wreckage he’d caused. Fingertips ran along the back of a lean neck and shoulders stooped. “I am sorry, though. I don’t— Ah, I mean, well I don’t venture here very often and I wasn’t expecting…” It wasn’t exactly an easy thing to put his finger on, but Jack didn’t enjoy traveling to the Oriental Grove on his own. The caterpillars had always made him nervous too.
“Um, is there anything I can do?” His nature aside, the consequences of the foolish, random desire that had brought Jack here should be dealt with properly.

✿~ The familiar face registers in her mind only when she is forced to look up at the face of the person who has bumped into her. But even then, she has to squint past the bright sunlight in order to make sense of the features that are much too similar to her own that to deny that they are family would be a useless point. When she has made sense of who the person is, a large smile etches its way on her lips and she throws herself into hugging the younger Liddell.
“Mason!”
She remembers then that it has been a long while since she saw her brother last and she notices just how much he has grown in the closeness of their proximity. Now a solid head taller than her, she thinks about the last time she was able to hug him like this and she feels guilty for not being able to have done it sooner. She gives him a tight squeeze, truly like how an older sister would to a younger brother.
“You’ve grown up so much! I’m so happy to see you again.”
