At first I thought it would go away in a few days but those couple of days turned into a week. The first time I went to go visit you last week it wasn’t so bad so I just made you some chicken soup and nagged you into taking medicine. A week and a day has passed. You let me have the key to your apartment so you wouldn’t have to get out of bed. —I let myself into your apartment, quietly slipping my shoes off before entering. “Yixing-ah, I’m coming in,” I announce as I usually do. I’ve grown accustomed to your apartment after the many days of visiting. Quickly I make it to your room. To my benefit the seat I had placed by your bedside is still there. Adding on to my luck you’re awake, that tired little smile on your face. The lights are dim but bright enough for me to make it to the seat without falling.

“You’re here again,” you manage to say. From your voice I could tell your throat has been doing better, along with your sinuses.

“Of course I am,” I start, “how could I just stay home knowing no one else is taking care of you hm?” We both share a laugh, yours quieter than mine. I lean forward in my seat to slightly hover over you, pressing our forehead together, a smile tugging at his lips. “Your temperature is beginning to go down.”

“My throat doesn’t feel as tight anymore, it’s still a little hard to breathe through my nose though,” you say.

“I brought just the thing for that,” I remove my backpack and reach into it, retrieving a small bowl filled with chicken soup. Before feeding you I set the bowl on the nightstand and help you sit up and get the tray that I made sure was kept under your bed.

“I don’t think soup is gonna he—” 

“I put hot sauce in it. It’s what I do when I have a stuffy nose. Now let Dr. Taemin work his magic~” We both laugh again. I spoon feed you slowly considering the amount of hot sauce in the soup.This goes on for a few more days and before we know it the color in your skin returns and you’re up and walking again. You no longer need my soup and care but I still go over for your company.

It wasn’t long after Yixing’s coming over that fever that the two went out for a little outing. This time though Taemin led the way not wanting to get lost again. They spent most of their day just wandering around the mall, eating sweets and pastries.The sun had set and they had no where else to go. Neither of them wanted to go back home. Some way or another they ended up in a park, swing set and all. Yixing was sitting on one of the swings and Taemin had situated himself on one of the picnic tables. It was quiet between the pair, a good quiet. Yixing slowly swinging and Taemin twirling a flower between his fingers. That’s when Taemin broke the silence. “Yah!” Yixing nearly fell off the swing.“W-What?” he asked. Taemin stood on the table, a hand on either hip, his stance heroic.“I’ve been thinking about this after I helped you out with that fever. You mean a lot to me Yixing. You’re one of the closest friends I have. We may not spend too much time together but I’d still be worried if something were to happen to you. I just wanted you to know that, that’s why I took you out today,” he nods with his signature bright smile. It was Yixing who broke out into laughter first. Taemin blushed and laughed along.
