Cristiano Ronaldo wins UEFA.com Goal of the Season
The personal accolades keep coming for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has just been awarded UEFA.com’s Goal of the Season for the 2017/18 campaign.
Unsurprisingly, his remarkable overhead kick effort for Real Madrid against current club Juventus is the strike that received the most votes.
The results weren’t even close in truth, with Cristiano’s goal receiving 197,496 votes, leaving Dimitri Payet’s second-placed effort some way behind on 35,558.
Eva Navarro rounded out the top three with her excellent goal for Spain’s Under-17 side in their European Championship final victory over Germany.
La Vecchia Signora now have the two most recent winners of this award in their squad, with Mario Mandzukic’s bicycle kick in the 2017 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid taking the crown last year.
