A Tale of Kings || Klaus & Marcel
It had been a little over a week since Marcel had been taken in by the Mikaelsons, and he was still waking up at the crack of dawn as he had on the plantation. He tossed and turned and tried desperately to fall back asleep, but his stomach rumbled with need and it was no use. Of course he wasn't so bold as to go looking for one of the Mikaelsons, so instead he silently got himself dressed and wandered out of the room deemed his. Perhaps he could wait in the main hall for one of them to wake and grow hungry themselves. The last thing he wanted was to become a burden, for fear that they might send him back.
As quietly as possible he made his way through the large compound, memorizing all of the hallways and doors leading to rooms he would one day explore. The place was huge, even bigger than the plantation house he guessed, but he knew better than to ask for a tour. This family had given him more than he had ever had in is life, a home, a room of his own, kindness, a name... there was no way he was going to mess this up. Yet as he told himself how well behaved he was going to be, an open door to his left caught his attention, luring him into the room that awaited.
Swords lined the walls, all mounted in rows with labels detailing each. This drew him in closer, he wanted to know what they said, where each piece was from. Swords had always fascinated him. He had seen letters before, but it was impossible to make out what any of the writing said. The A's he recognized, since that symbol was on all of the boxes they used to ship out the apples, but as for the other letters, well, maybe if he squinted for long enough they would come to him.
"A..." He began, knowing very well that he must have sounded like a fool. Luckily everyone else in the home was sleeping so they wouldn't hear, at least that's what he thought.
