Fans start throwing shit into cage.
What a mess.
Pantera’s vet savvy was too powerful.
Brandon Moreno {-250} DEFEATS Steve Erceg {+205} via 5 round DECISION on UFC Mexico. Will go 5 rounds {-215} & Moreno wins by decision {+130} hits!
Imagine if Sara McMann had Eubanks or Ladd’s temperament in the cage.
Carla Esparza takes the majority decision over Alexa Grasso
Absolutely amazing fight between Grasso and Esparza. Grasso was hurting Esparza every time she landed the cross or the hook on the feet. Esparza landed several takedowns in which she was able to hold Grasso down for long periods of time while Grasso worked guard instead of trying to get up.
Grasso had the fight! Rocked Esparza hard in the 3rd. Like on skates and everything. And instead of pouring on the pressure she lets Esparza recover. Then Esparza shoots, Grasso stops the takedown and tries to turn it into a crucifix. Esparza escapes but gets caught in a deep armbar. She manages to twist her way out of it. The crazy thing tho is I got the sense that Grasso probably could have got up if she really wanted to in the first 2 rounds. She just kept trying to play guard instead. What a letdown. Huge win for Esparza though, as she really had to gut this one out.
Brandon Moreno and Askar Askarov fight to a split draw
What a fantastic fun fight. Fuck the UFC brass for cutting Moreno and trying to get rid of this division. Absolutely nutso fight full of nothing but chaotic energy. Let’s run this one back.
Steven Ocho Peterson KOs Martin Bravo with a spinning backfist!
2nd round KO for the Fortis MMA product. Bravo spun for a spinning back elbow that came up short and Peterson counters with the spinning backfist that connects clean.
Up to that point, it was a really fun fight. Bravo got off to an early lead. He was doing super well pushing the pace and exchanging with Peterson. It wasn’t so much high volume 5-6 strike combos so much as it was just a high exchange rate. Bravo never really exited striking range. Peterson eventually caught on a was fighting his way back into the fight in the second half of the 1st round. He comes out and starts landing really well in the 2nd as Bravo looks like he’s slowing down and then the KO happens. A shame for Bravo who seems to be a really talented fighter but drops to 1-3 in the UFC.
Irene Aldana takes a decision over Vanessa Melo
Aldana has all the offensive fire power but so little of the craft with evading shots. For whatever reason, she becomes more hittable (time-able?) as the fight goes on.
