Not sure what the consensus is, but I’m picking Kattar to out kickbox the crap out of Magomedsharipov. I see that jab giving Zabit all types of trouble and Zabit struggling to close distance to get Kattar down.

My memory is bad. Has Ed Herman always been a savage with the knees or is that just something he picked up at 205?
Zabit Magomedsharipov takes the UD over Calvin Kattar.
So upset that wasn’t a 5 rounder.
Zabit did a brilliant job over the first two rounds getting stifling Kattar’s jab. We didn’t really see him move backwards the way we did against Stephens or Bochniak. Instead he chose to stay in front of Kattar and fight a more switch heavy game where he’d change stances while hand fighting. Lots of hard feints just threw off Kattar’s timing and he couldn’t find the jab. But, like we all expected, Kattar found his mark in the third. Started landing with the jab after upping the pressure. Then he started connecting with uppercuts when Magomedsharipov would try to collapse the pocket or duck under. Unfortunately for Kattar he threw a flying knee with 40 seconds left that Zabit turned into a takedown to seal the fight.
As long as Zabit is only a two round fighter, I don’t like his chances against another top 5 opponent in a 5 rounder. Back in the day, when only title fights would get 5 rounds he might be able to hide it better but not now. Most of the other guys can go at 145lbs. He’s got a lot of really impressive tools but they’re so energy intensive.
Alexander Volkov dominates [redacted] en route to UD.
Volkov basically went into cruise control when he realized he could just keep [redacted] at distance with kicks to the lead leg and jabs. Great use of the body kicks too, forcing [redacted] to shell up basically every time he hit him with one.
Hard to judge [redacted] because he’s so inexperienced and it really felt like Volkov just wanted to cruise after spending a year on the shelf. Was landing the jab to the body and the occassional leaping left hook but that was really it. Looks like he hurt his hand.
Will say, commentary was gross af. I don’t want to see a forced redemption story for [redacted]. It’s disgusting.
Danny Roberts KOs Zelim Imadaev at the end of the 2nd!
Imadaev whiffs on a huge overhand right and Roberts is able to counter from southpaw with a left hand that spins Imadaev around for the faceplant KO. Nice win for Roberts who came in looking to tire Imadaev in the wrestling exchanges.
UFC Moscow has started
For those unaware. They’re on the 3rd fight on the prelims at the moment. Card is on ESPN+.
