Btw, to any of you few followers I have who have no interest in college football, I apologize. I haven't been this entertained/interested in BCS football since I was in high school (I've since mainly focused on fcs in my devotion to georgia southern). And the last couple weeks had been nuts. And as great as the games have been, I've gone back to one conclusion. Out of all college fan bases, I LOATH UGA fans. I want to like UGA, I do. Their football program is great and has awesome traditions and history... But their danged fans leave such an awful taste in my mouth. Ever since I was younger, I've been against UGA... I have no real reason other than this to hate them.... I guess it's the superiority above all things that makes me mad. From people who went there, it's awful, such condescending attitudes towards you, from your team choice to your education. The most back handed and caddy people I know. Yes there are genuinely great people who go there, every fan base has great and awful people, I've just lived my whole life with UGA fans to notice how many awful fans their are. Then there are the people who didn't go there, just picked it to be their team, and will live and die with it. And they are the absolute worst. Students and alumni get under my skin enough, but the attitude that reeks from these fans is so mind altering-ly infuriating. And the way they speak of their team... From the stat crunching guys who are somehow convinced that every quarter back they get is Gods gift to football to the dumb girl who doesn't actually know anything about the sport but tweets every Saturday "go Dawgs" (ugh i forgot the spelling) but doesn't watch the game and just celebrates when everyone else does, and goes to Athens to pretend she goes their so she can keep up appearances before she gets plastered at one of the top party schools in the country... Also, they such a whiny fan base as well, most big SEC schools are this way too, but any little offense made by an opposing team or fans is posted all over Facebook like one of those articles moms post about how shocked they are about something (in fact 90% of the people who post crap links every day tend to be the ones rooting for pooGA on Saturdays... Coincidence?) then during a loss, they'll say how they're still a fan but commit to a more sedated state and act depressed or plead ignorance or no response to remarks made about the game because they're too upset about the outcome to come back with anything, or they'll make excuses. I don't need to get into the Saturday experience of Athens because as with all schools, the crowd you're with determines your experience, so pre/post game can be a great or awful experience, though for me, being surrounded by such a large group that I feel so annoyed by makes my stomach hurt. So to summarize for the tl:dr crowd, of all annoying fans I know, there is never a more condescending, rude and whiny bunch than UGA. They believe they are the only school in Georgia that matters and that pisses me off. -end rant. As always I'm open for rebuke though I hardly get it, and anything condescending or insulting will just prove my point, I don't consider myself a tech fan so the outcome of tonight's game has little has little reason for this besides prompting it. I'm just from (mostly) the outside looking in on this issue.
