hi, ken! i just saw the books you posted off your wishlist! im an artist too and i wanted to share smthg i found recently, its a site where u can download tons of artbooks/how to draw books, etc as pdfs (the shojo book u got is on the site and reminded me of it)! a lot of the books are in russian, japanese, spanish but there are english books too. i downloaded like 100s of books. it does take a while for the pdfs to load sometimes and download sometime takes like 10 mins 1/2
Yeah I was actually referred to that site and it’s where I found the shojo books first, that’s why I wanted them when I was window shopping the other day at Kinokuniya but tbh ebooks and pdfs don’t let me engage as much as I do with the tangibility of books because I don’t have an ereader or some device I can read it in as easily as I do with a book. I still have a folder with mad pdfs and ebooks I read through my discomfort and difficulty engaging with em. like I’m not a book purist but when it comes to actually learning, personally, the more physical the more it sticks for me and flicking my mouse up and down reading it from the computer really doesn’t help me keep my attention on it. They do help though cause I still retain some of the info and know which books I like and am gonna get beforehand after a thorough read through the pdfs/ebook version.
