drove up to Milwaukee today.

Saw people doing sports parachuting on the way.

And then a couple of Apache AH-64 attack helicopters (???!!)

Then to the Milwaukee Art Museum to see the Scandinavian Design exhibit which was pretty cool. The theme was the conversation between Scandinavia and the US, and how each influenced each other (from Scandinavian immigrants to the USA, to how many of them trained American artists and designers).

We stopped for lunch at the café and the freaking Blue Angels aerobatics team were doing very loud precision flying maneuvers over the lake for nearly half an hour. (They fly so close together it’s frightening).

Then home to Chicago.

On the way, we saw two people that had been pulled over by the police - there were two police cars and the officers had guns drawn, and a white woman in a green flowery dress was walking backwards towards the officers with her hands up while a white guy with a mustache sat in the passenger’s side, keeping his hands visible outside the vehicle.

also seen en route: a gold Lincoln with one of those xtian fish logos, with the fish filled in with a US flag, and the license plate WE STAND. “I’ll sit,” said my wife.
