Lucifer glanced at the bottom of Cassian's door on his way to the kitchen, why was his light still on? He himself needed another pot of coffee to finish these documents, but there was no reason Cass should be up this late. He knocked twice on the wooden door, all potential thoughts of him falling asleep with the light on washed away by the sound of a chair moving and some soft footsteps.
Cass opened the door with a surprised look on his face, "Lucifer?" He said quietly.
The demon raised an eyebrow. "Were you expecting someone else?"
"N-no, it's just that I didn't think... well you... uhmm...."
"It's alright, take your time."
Cass whispered a 'thank you' before taking a deep breath and starting again. "I just was surprised it was you, usually if someone's at my door it's like, Belphie or Mammon."
"I see, do they usually visit you this late?"
"Not... usually... well... maybe a few times a week?"
Lucifer sighed, "I'll need to have a talk with them, they don't need to be interrupting you while you sleep, you need your rest."
Cass smirked, "Says you knocking on my door at 2 in the morning."
Lucifer matched the human's expression, "And I wouldn't be if you were in bed sleeping."
That made Cassian shrink back a bit.
"What were you doing?"
"Oh, I was doing some calculations!"
Lucifer couldn't believe his ears, Cassian never did math willingly. Usually they had to drag him kicking and screaming to even start his work. "Is this for schoolwork?"
Cass shook his head, "It's for a game."
He quickly walked back to his desk and brought back a notebook, with the door open Lucifer could see his laptop was also open next to it. There were various tabs open along with what seemed to be the login screen for something. He looked down at the notebook Cassian was showing him.
"Uhm so, in Sigilscape, it's an online game me and Levi play, there's a skill called Prayer, and the best way to train it is going into the Deep Forest and using bones on this shrine. So at first I was trying to find out how many I'd need to buy to get to the level I need, but then!"
He pointed to another messy set of numbers on the page.
"I found out that the Specterfuntus gives a bit more XP, though it's slower, it's a lot safer since the Deep Forest shrine has a lot of PKers near it... Oh! PK means player killer, it's other players that will attack you, cause you can do that in the Deep Forest."
Lucifer felt like his head was spinning, he usually tuned out Levi's game ramblings, but he wasn't expecting Cassian to go on a verbal rampage tonight.
"So I was just trying to find out how many bones I'd need to get the levels I need!"
"That sounds..." Fun? Interesting? He wasn't sure what to say to all of that.
Luckily for him, Cassian yawned. "I guess I should get to bed though, thanks for checking up on me." He sweetly smiled at the demon.
Lucifer pet Cassian on the head, "You're welcome, have a good rest."
Cass nodded and shut the door, and Lucifer walked away, dazed and confused, he might just need two pots of coffee after that exchange.
