- Still, he smiled.-
At the hands of cruel fate, the two lovers must face the price for their love, their sin. As the prince raised his sword with tears flooding his eyes, he murmured words of love for the peasant, the woman he loved. As the sword sliced her neck, splattering blood everywhere, the prince can't help but felt his heart filled with sorrow. He looked at his hand, dirtied by the blood of his pure love, he pierced his heart with the same blade he used to end her. And as he lay by the side of his lover's lifeless body, he smiled. Every moment of their love flashed in front of him, how she tenderly showered him with affection, how he never once thought of her as dirty and that she was purer than the flaming fire where no impurities resided. He smiled at how he would satisfy her every request and spend their nights professing their undying love when the moon is their only witness. He smiled at his memories where he kept whispering to his love how he imagined a family, a big family of five with him and her as gentle and loving parents. Though the fantasy was almost fulfilled by the news of their first child, fate can be such a cruel thing. He smiled at the thought of her, oh her kind self. How pure she is, how pure her love is. No matter the challenges and hardships, she faced it all with a strong, bright, and cheery smile. Her shine far surpasses the sun, as he was convinced that she was the one who brought the day along with the bright daylight sun which brings joy to everyone. He knew that she is the sun, his sun. He is convinced that she was the one who covered the sun with the blanket of the night, where relaxation and peace could be found. When the majestic moon would come out and listen to stories of the world to sing to tomorrow's sun, he knew for sure that she was the moon. His moon and he is the stars that swore to protect her.
The oath that he broke.
Still, he smiled.
He smiled a smile full of joy as he held her hand that reached out in the light. Smiled, knowing how they would finally be happy at the place where nobody would protest against their divine love. In a place that are safe for him, his beloved and their unborn child. A safe and accepting place in the next life.
