7. “Aww, you didn’t have to get me a gift!”

Olga looked down at the box Elise had set on her lap, looked at the crisp red paper, decorated with glitter (Stars? Or snowflakes? Stars, she immediately realised upon tracing her fingers along the paper. It was bound to get everywhere but she didn’t mind, really) and tied with a green bow. The woman in question was sat excitedly across from Olga, her hands balled in her lap as she practically bounced in her seat.
“You didn’t have yo get me a gift, my love,” Olga reached a hand out to clasp Elise’s, “Though I appreciate it nonetheless.”
“Of course I do! You’re my girlfriend, and I love giving you gifts! Now open it, please?”
Olga smiled, picking up the box, heavy but not too much, gently moving it closer, further up her lap to get better purchase.
“Alright.”
it’s @hwsyuriweek2020 and I have this tiny, pretty sappy thing! because belg makes for a really good older lady in my mind and I love her. for the prompt garden :>

pairings/characters: Belgium (Manon)/Ukraine (Iryna) word count: 742 summary: Manon can see the future unfolding itself across her garden, sprawling before her eyes. It is bright.
--
On a sleepy Saturday morning, Manon looks at the rain outside, and imagines the future.
She can see it without much effort, unfolding before her like a dream. A gentle rain falls in the mess that the garden still is, path unfinished and grass uncut, but she can see what it will be. What they will make of it. Iryna has explained it to her, how she wants their families to come to them when they need comfort, a reprieve from the everyday. How they can be a little haven, out here in their little house with the sprawling yard. Just the two of them.
Belgium: !!! She replied!!!
Netherlands, thinking: Goodness, she'll finally be able to sleep now...
Ukraine, via message: Sorry for the late reply! 😭💦 I dropped my phone in the tub, and it just turn on now!💦💦 Sorry!
Belgium: I thought so! *Writing* "I wasn't waiting or anything..." Or maybe I'll ask what sticker is that...
*30 minutes later*
Belgium: aah, my message is too long again...
*1 hour later*
Belgium: I'd better just use a sticker...
Belgium: BIG BRO, WHICH ONE SHOULD I USE????
Netherlands, already at bed: I'm begging you, go to sleep.
There hovers forever around you delight: a beauty desired. (APH Belgium/APH Ukraine)
28. “Ice-skating? Do you seriosuly trust me with knives on my feet?”

Elise looked at Olga and then to the pair of ice-skates the woman had dropped at her feet with a frown, and then a weak smile when she looked back up at her girlfriend.
“Ice-skating?” Elise mused, nudging the skates tentatively with her boots, “Do you seriously trust me with knives on my feet? ”
“Elle, please? It will be so fun!”
“It has been almost 400 years since I last went, I am afraid I may be rusty.”
“Then I will help you keep your balance, yes? Then you will be fine.” she held out her hand, smiling, her blue eyes warm, and Elise looked at her and wished suddenly they had stayed home instead where it was warm and cosy and she could spend the day holding Olga, the whole world passing by outside without them.
“Alright, I’ll give it a try! It will be fun, no matter what.”
