I think something that has become part of me because of my science education is the need of stating sources. Is not intimidation or anything and more like the existential dread of thinking you may be spreading misinformation (hisses) and that we could be contributing to the spread of slop and incorrect facts that may harm others perceptions or ideas.
So if you see posts of mine with links and sources is not becaue I'm a snob all researcher but rather think of me being afraid and evil reviewer will be calificating my post as if this was a master thesis that must be impolute even if it's just a shitpost. And If I ask for your sources is to get to know more! 😊

I do have to remind everyone here or smth. Societies change and so do their appearances and it does not erase the fact they are still themselves if the culture persists in whatever iteration it comes from. We tend to see the past as a monolith but I'll kid you not it isn't and this is not a grand discussion. It all just stems from me observing how my feeds have turned slightly into an idealized version of curated stuff that basically paints an " average Mediterranean Summer (tm)". I will say, no. There are aesthetic links? Yes kinda. But so is average Mediterranean summer sweatin your ass off in a dusty kiosk and happy polos and lemonade. Also average summer experience is working with the absurd amount of regenerated sand that sticks everywhere. Average summer experience is turning the fans all in and shutting down the shutters when sun hits at noon. The sweat, the complaining the nauseating feeling of time melting off and not knowing what to do with your life is also average summer. And I say this for a thing, idealizing is good but when everywhere is just idiolozing someone needs to bring the cold water bucket or we ran into issues.
My summers, for my part, have not been under sun-umbrellas and flipflops or touring around Liguria or Mykonos and being under lemon trees by the coast. My summers have been under the shade of a polyester tent, mosquito bites, eating one's own sweat and melting with the coach in cotton clothing or naked smelling like a dog even while taking more than two daily showers.
And I also think there's beauty in that.
