GIVE ME A MOMENT TO GUSH ABOUT THE OFTEN-OVERLOOKED AND UNDERAPPRECIATED ULLRID OF GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2 EXILIUM NOW THAT CREW DECK HAS ADDED SOME NEW INTERACTIONS WITH HER.

Ullrid has become my favorite Doll in all of GFL/Neural Cloud purely because her backstory is very middle-ground. Often times, leaders are portrayed as either being pinnacles of leadership, huge dictators, or grossly incompetent.

It's not often we get a leader character who is competent and capable as a leader yet having so many moments of relieving stress or expressing concerns that would naturally build up when in such heavy roles. Especially for Ullrid who runs a Doll 'Community' that is democratic, where she walks a fine line in making the best choices for the Community.

And so often Ullrid will rely on essentially her second-in-command, Littara, for not just support but perspective that helps her to remain focused on being a proper leader. Adding on her interactions with the Commander, it becomes obvious that she ends up shouldering a lot more than she can naturally handle, leading to a need to de-stress more often than she'd probably want to admit aloud. The conversation in the Crew Deck illustrates it more directly with the unfortunately-not-animated sofa snuggle (future ASMR please Yuzhong).

And, of course, the experienced Commander brings up something pretty simple that- while looking from outside seems obvious- can evade someone who is stuck over-thinking the necessities and whatnot in such a heavy role. Again, a different perspective.

Most of all, bear in mind this is a Tactical Doll who was captured and sold to a Doll Hunting Ground, which is described as a 'living hell'. The scars on her back. which are visible in her model as well. are visible proof of what she endured.

Despite being a Doll, the games have described Dolls changing in a lot of ways- fearing humans, hating humans, even loving humans- so for Ullrid to endure all that but remain kind and strong enough to found this 'Community' is amazing on its own, but it becomes more realistic when they add in story bits about her need to rest becoming greater and more difficult to appease as the 'Community' grows.

Thankfully, in meeting the Commander, Ullrid found not just a trustworthy human but somewhere she can completely rest for a little while.

So long as she doesn't drink coffee while on the bed.

For Exilium to have so many Dolls that fit a particular stereotype, or to have such 'near-perfect' ones like Groza (who, in my opinion, gets too much over-glorification by other Dolls during story events), Ullrid being more reasonably-written and balanced around her primary role stands out to the point of making her a great counter-balance to those one-track Dolls.

Unfortunately, she is overlooked a lot purely from a 'meta' perspective because she's a Physical unit, designed for single-target damage of no actual Element. Even though her Crit-focused kit is insanely good, it looks like she's still unpopular not just for her limited Phase Weakness coverage but also being an Exilium-original Doll with no previous pedigree.

And yet...

She is amazing. She can cross an entire map and wipe three units in one turn easily, deal a SIGNIFICANT amount of damage to Elites and Bosses, and the new expansions on her Neural Helix allow her to absolutely ravage whatever you don't like on the field- no matter their phase weakness.

While I have many complaints about the alternate outfits in the game being far too nonsense and- pardon the buzzword usage- gooner-inclined, I sincerely hope she gets an outfit in the future. Preferably something casual or like Grizzly's ballroom dress.

Anyways, I'm done gushing. Hopefully someone enjoys the huge word salad above. I just had to get it out of my system.
