Summary: Thanks to the DJD, Trailcutter and Artemis had no chance at a happy ending. After the end of the events of Lost Light, Artemis does something about that. Written for cavalierconvoy, using their very cool OC, Artemis. Contains: canon-typical violence (nowhere near as gory as canon), time travel, happy ending, friendship, romance.

One of Wheeljack's inventions misfires, and sends Vortex and First Aid to a place that they have never seen before. Far enough way that sparkbonds and commlinks do nothing... and yet, there is something familiar about the atmosphere, and the metallic structure of the ground they walk on.
They will have to work together if they want to find their way back to Earth.
Writing meme
Rules: Post the last sentence you’ve written for a fanfiction/original work/any piece of writing and tag as many people as there are words, or five people.
(@thejourneymaninn tagged anyone who wants to and I do.)
From my original WiP, Courtly Intrigue and Dragons:
“Oh yes,” Beolt replied, “the ink they used was blood.”
DO IT TOO IF YOU LIKE.
OH MY GOODNESS, THIS IS HILARIOUS
So, there I was, lying in bed, mindlessly refreshing Tumblr rather than going to sleep, and there’s a noise. Not a big one, but I live alone, so any noise I don’t cause is strange.
As I still haven’t fully unpacked and my study is an unstable pile of stuff, I assumed a thing just fell over or something.
But then there was another noise.
It went on longer.
If I didn’t know better, I thought, I could swear there was a cat in the house with me...
And then I remembered Simba.
The ginger neighbour cat who gate-crashed my write-in on Tuesday and didn’t want to leave.
But, I told myself, Simba can’t be in here. He was only in my house before because I let him in and...
OH MY GOD I LEFT THE FRENCH WINDOWS OPEN.
Scrambling to my feet as there was another noise that was very definitely either a burglar or Simba, I toppled out the door just in time to see an orange blur disappearing down the stairs, very much in the manner of one being caught doing something one knows one ought not do.
I dashed to follow and make sure he was not actually still in my house when I closed the French windows, only to find him sitting in the middle of my back garden looking at me beseechingly.
“Yowl?” he said, as I began laughing. “Yowl? Yowl?”
Simba, I do believe, is trying very hard to adopt me.
[Note: Simba is clearly very well cared for and appears to be a fine and happy cat. However curious and friendly he is, I know better than to try to adopt him back.]

Thanks so much y’all!!
I hope I can do well and learn a lot and do good work!!!
For the meme, H and L!
H. How would you describe your style?
I would stare at you blankly and then hide if you asked me such a question.
Um. Stark? Utilitarian? I have a bad habit of not describing things, or I perceive myself as such.
L. What's the weirdest AU you've ever come up with?
Order of the Lotus Senshi, wherein my silly attempt at fusing Sailor Moon and Avatar: the Last Airbender wound up with transformation artifacts keyed to certain fighting styles (’bending each of the elements, martial arts, wooden weapons, and metal weapons plus one for dealing with Tui) winding up in the hands of the Order of the Lotus back when they were young. It turned them into ladies while they were using it, and I have a really hard time maintaining silly so things got serious and dark. Also, Ozai killed Pakku while he was the Senshi of Water, and Iroh managed to use his abilities as Senshi of the Moon to bring him back... Except he’d never met Pakku as a man, he only knew him in the body of the Senshi of Water, so now Pakku can’t untransform. (I never did resolve that.)
Vortex? Whirl? Autorotation
Cracked writes that up in accessible and amusing ways, too. I’d like to see a story with Vortex hit and emergency-landing like that, and some grounder in alt form (First Aid?) riding in his cabin not even realizing it’s a thing. OR thinking they will crash and die. 40 sec into the vid:
Quote: Take blades out, and the entire machine will come crashing down as hard as, well, any video game helicopter. But that's only true if you blow the blades clean off -- as long as they remain attached, a copter with a broken engine can land safely thanks to something calledautorotation. We assumed that's what you called a masturbating helicopter until Chris explained the details.
"In an autorotation, you tilt the rotor backwards so air starts rushing up through the blades, turning them like a pinwheel. That creates lift, so you stay up. You need to first have some type of energy in the system (usually from the engine), to convert into rotational energy, but once you have that, you can turn the engine off and land by having the rotors 'pinwheeling.' When done correctly, passengers would likely not even know that the engine was off."
