I’m a big fan of Clintasha because of Jeremy and Scarlett’s chemistry and their hinted past like Budapest. I’ve haven’t read the comics though just parts that are posted to tumblr. I’ve heard that in the comics Clint cares more for Natasha and she just uses his love for her to manipulate him like when she gets him to fight Iron Man. Do you think Natasha really loves him in the comics or if she just uses him?

I think you’re getting your info from the wrong people.  There are a lot of people that still like to push that narrative when it is only how they began, and ignores all the development they have been through over the past 50 years.

Yes, in the beginning Clint fell for Natasha at first sight, and she used that and manipulated him to help her fight Iron Man, but in the end she truly fell in love with him too, and he was a big factor in her finally breaking free from the Russians and going straight.  They didn’t work out, they wanted different things, and she told him she didn’t love him as it was the only way he would let her go, but it was clearly shown to be a lie.

Over the years they’ve grown both separately and together.  They’re closer now, as teammates and friends, than they have ever been, and even recently rekindled their romance before Natasha was unfortunately killed.  It’s okay, she got better lol.

Does Clint care more for her than she does for him?  It’s possible, but it’s definitely not true that she only uses him.  She definitely loves him, but they have very different morals that make it difficult.  Clint is very much against killing (unless a writer gets ahold of him that thinks maybe he’s not right now), while Natasha has not qualms against it if it’s necessary.  It seems more that she feels bad that she always ends up hurting him, and that he deserves better than her, and that she doesn’t think she can be the woman he wants her to be, which is really sad.  

There is definitely a lot of love there, on both sides, but there are a lot of obstacles they would have to work through to actually make it work.  Personally, I would love a writer to actually tackle that, to really have them face that and still try to be together.  It would be amazing.

Do you know any multiverse where Clintasha is canon? Like romantically, maybe? ;) If not, what's your idea of Clintasha being canon.

Heya hon! Sorry about the late reply. Super busy and barely been online at all the past few days.

As for your question, of course I do! Clintasha has been canon in many a verse! Of course there’s the main one, the first one, the 616, where they were each other’s first on page love. They’re not together anymore, but they’re still very close friends and there’s always a chance it could happen again.

If you haven’t read the New Avengers: Breakout prose novel by Alisa Kwitney yet, go get a copy right now! It could have used some extra editing, but I love it, and it’s filled with such Clintasha goodness. This is the book I point to when people say Marvel never meant for Clintasha to be canon in the MCU, because they’re so clearly wrong. If they didn’t mean it then why does this book exist? Why did Marvel commission an author to adapt a canon comic art into a novel and add in a whole romantic plot that wasn’t there before between two characters that weren’t even involved in the original plot? Then, of course, there was the Avengers Assemble comic book series at the time that was clearly promoting the ship in the 616, but that’s another story.

Okay, so that’s two. There’s also the animated world, where they were canon in the Iron Man: Armoured Adventures show, as well as the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoon that preceded Avengers Assemble. and even Avengers Assemble has hints, though it doesn’t do romance, period, so dunno if you wanna count that. It’s still two more if you don’t.

There’s various other bit appearances, like a random bug verse and the Avengers Babies, and a glimpse from a random universe in an issue of Rocket Raccoon (you can’t tell me Skottie Young doesn’t ship it lol). Oh, and games! they were totally dating in the Marvel Lego Super Heroes game before they ruined it by adapting AoU in the sequel.

I feel I may be missing some, but bottom line is that Clintasha has been canon in at least half a dozen verses, more than most couples ever get! And sorry for getting so wordy, I’m just very passionate about this subject lol. Thanks for asking darling!

Headcanon: Clint uses the stovetop jiffy pop for all his popcorn needs.  He never got the hang of microwave popcorn, somehow always managing to burn half of it while the other half remained mostly unpopped kernels.

Natasha loves to tease him about this, but secretly finds it endearing.  She also prefers his method, though she won’t tell him that.

I was listening to this song earlier and was overwhelmed by Clint/Natasha feels.  My heart.

But just imagine how great it would have been if Clint had been the one to go for Natasha when Ultron had her.  It would have been such an awesome parallel: she fought like hell and was willing to give almost anything to have him back in the first film, and then in this one it was his turn.

Except when he reaches the building she’s being held in he finds she’s already freed herself and taken out half a dozen drones.

Natasha: Took you long enough

Clint: Aw, come on

Natasha: I already owe you.  Couldn’t let you get further ahead

Clint, of course, would want to argue that she didn’t owe him anything (’cause just having her in his life was reward enough), but it wouldn’t be the time and place so he’d just look at her with big heart eyes and they would run off together to kick some robot ass. 

How amazing would that have been?
