now that im making my own posts I think neon white did not get the flowers it deserved ever and im sad about it. even capitalism didn’t give it anything the annapurna store had t-shirts that they never restocked but no posters or nothing.

it has one of the funniest campiest toonami-3-AM-timeblock shitposts for a narrative that’s gay as hell and has the capability of being emotionally resonant when it wants to be. the plot centers around the period of time between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur if you’re paying attention. they got fucking Steve Blum for this shit and he puts his whole Blumussy into it.

the player character is a clueless horny wet cat of a man whose bisexual girlfriend has him down absolutely horrendous on one of the goofiest leashes ever. he has insane homosexual tension with one of the hammiest villains put to a video game. he respects consent. they call him “Mr. White”, and yes, it is as stupid as it sounds, and you are not immune to giggling every time.

the gameplay will make your skin fly off your bones and piss you the fuck off when you miss beating your own best time by milliseconds. you will kick your feet and giggle every time you find a shortcut. the level design is best in class and you will cry when you find out there’s no level editor. the game is literally tailor made—not necessarily intentionally—with a hierarchy to encourage people to make OCs.

the guy who led the game showed up to the game awards in a jacket with a shinji chair patch. it got an insane amount of TGA nominations and won none of them. machine girl did the ost for the entire game.

what im saying is:

1. You should play neon white

2. Neon White and V1 Ultrakill should kiss nasty as protagonists of insanely fast movement shooters who are little shitheads just trying to live another day with incredibly specific survival conditions

I love playing the games I have but at the same time SOME of them have a sudden difficulty increase in their later levels, like a blatantly obvious one

Like I love games where the focus is going fast but putting a strict visible timer makes things too nerve-wracking for me.

I'll still keep said games that do this since I've played them long enough as it is but god, I can't bare to finish them because of the difficulty going steep.

Mind you, the game I've been playing was on their counterpart of the medium difficulty and that ONE level drives me nuts.

I'll still play the rest but its... the levels with time limits that drive me mad. Yes, I have gotten used to Antonblast but that one Ultrakill level sends me shivers in my spine.

Giant robot seems simple enough right? WRONG I swear that goddamn earthmover...

Something about that level makes me unable to balance my feelings and my brain because its going that fast with a timer, same goes with hell manor in antonblast.

This is definitely not a thing exclusive to ultrakill nor stuff like pizza tower
