BARBEROS (UK) and ULTRAZOOK (FR) 12 OF MAY 2012 // Barcelona
We all knew Barberos weren´t gonna deceive any expectations. What we weren´t quite aware of, was that probably one or two years had past since the last time we put them on. Well, those guys appeared last night bloody fitter than ever. Without any further word the set started with the 'great classic' Piss Nails, a continuous ride of tribal rhythm growing, constantly growing up prior to explode, dilate, and crouch back in an endless mental dub. The show then started dripping an uncontrollable intensity, the white-coated guys kept pumping loud and louder all the way through, both brand new stuff and wicked oldies. Those fat square waves through your stomach, that percussive atrocity, that feeling that you just could have stayed there forever. Well up to the role, Ultrazook complemented the show delivering a unique robo-funk mix. A funfair of tropical rhythms, hi-pitched voices, nintendo-like melodies, yummy basslines, groovy, yet tight, catchy yet ever-surprising, irresistible and clever, they´re quickly engraving their name somewhere between Kraftwerk and the Chipmunks. Both outfits will be hitting the road for a couple weeks, don't miis the chance to be part of this. You´ll never forget it.
