Yokai Inktober #19-20: Bakezori, Umatokage, and Gekima
I based these guys off Kyōsai’s Pictures of One Hundred Demons. I didn’t get much information from them, but they were hella fun to draw.
Bakezori and Umatokage, the straw and stick combo! They’re both Tsukumogami, Bakezori is a sandal, while Umatokage is a toy stick horse, although its name translates to lizard horse. I don’t know why they’re paired up like this, maybe it’s for the sake of a pun?
Gekima is a spear Tassel Tsukumogami. Not quite noteworthy, but hopefully not as bloodthirsty as its master as it wanders around old battle fields.
