“Iceland could have been anywhere. But as it turns out, Iceland suited my needs. In fact, it seemed to form a perfect complement to my native home, New York. Iceland is the place where I have the clearest view of myself and my relationship to the world. By clearest view, I mean a world that is less constricted by social conventions,” said artist Roni Horn in an interview with Jan Howard, pages 102-104, Roni Horn, 2000, Phaidon Press. 🌌🌇 Horn’s FREE exhibition will be available at the UMCA from Jan.31 to Apr. 26. His opening reception is next Thursday, Jan.30 from 4-7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. #RoniHorn #Iceland #UMCA #NewYork #Home (at University Museum of Contemporary Art) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7n47DVhyWp/?igshid=8521frdbac6m
