what's your opinion on lapdog breeds, such as bichon frise, chihuahuas, shi-tsu and others of the toy breed group?

I think they're definitely better than having no dog at all, but to be honest they're not my first choice. Many of the tiny dogs that I've met have had this frantically nervous energy that I find unnerving. And brachycephalic heads straight up terrify me.

I do like hairless dogs though, and many of those tend to be on the smaller side. And Italian Greyhounds! Each to their own.
