Did my makeup, not used to these colors. They’re a wee bit out of my element. I do like the brown lip. #football #unatego #gospartans #greensmokeyeyes #brownlips

Tragedy in Unatego
In about 1980 or so, The South Central Caller's Association held several dances in the Unatego School. We had a staff of about 7 callers and 1 full-time round dance cuer, running 3 halls most of the night. One for mainstream, one for plus, and one for round dancing.
It was an unusually warm evening in the main gymnasium. The dance that night went off without a hitch. Several clubs were represented including the Grad-U-8's from Delhi, NY with members Mike and Millie Fasullo. Earlier that evening during dinner Mike said that he did not feel like eating much, but being the devoted dancers they dressed up and went to the dance.
Mike sat out the majority of the dances that night. He heard that I was the next scheduled caller and walked onto the floor. Millie asked him if he was up to it. He told her that he liked my calling and wanted to dance. About 2 minutes into the singing call portion of my tip, I noticed some commotion a few squares back where Mike and Millie were dancing. Mike was down. A dancer that was a doctor had his black bag there and proceeded to work on Mike. The emergency squad was only about 2 minutes away, where they were finishing up another call. The hall was cleared of the other dancers to allow the medical professionals the room they needed.
Unfortunately, Mike did not survive. May we all be so lucky as to do what we enjoy when it is our time to go. Millie continued to be a strong member of the Grad-U-8's and would dance the man's part to make sure others could enjoy dancing. Millie along with Margaret Porter and Sally Waring were the main spark plugs for the senior citizens dance club in Delhi, NY. The name of their group was the Perky set. Perky was an acronym for Peppy Energetic Retirees Keeping Young.
