oh no i'm so sorry rubit that really awful. :( your not being ridiculous tho he was your family and you're doing what's best for him. is there any chance you might be able to get him back one day?
I don’t think so. He’s eight years old and approaching the age where he would be nearly unadoptable. People involved in these things have advised us to place him in a new home now rather than temporary foster homes on the off chance things might change for us, and I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford a place big enough for him to be comfortable in his lifetime. Parents have moved into assisted living facilities, younger sister is in Chicago, and older sister’s husband can’t deal with his chewing habit.
I’m going to say goodbye this weekend and not see him again to encourage him to accept his new home and his new family. And I’ll hope he spends the rest of his life happy.
