That moment when the picture is taken too quick and the only one who prepared their silly face was @torikelly 😂😍 . So two years ago when I had my very first (and hopefully my last!) vocal injury, I was placed on 2 weeks of mandatory vocal rest, which meant no singing or even speaking at all. The fear of the unknown and feeling like I was cut off from what I loved the most really weighed heavily on my heart. During that time of soul searching, I somehow fell upon Tori's first record "Unbreakable Smile" whilst searching for new albums, and immediately felt uplifted and reassured somehow. It was a scary and uncertain time, and those beautiful songs resonated within my very anxious heart and offered me some calm during that storm. Ever since then I've been a huge admirer of Tori and have always wanted to meet her, and last Friday Scotty and I finally got to! Her new record "Hiding Place" is a touching work of art, and the tour itself was an incredibly spiritual experience. God was speaking through this amazing girl the whole time, that's for sure. Fireback House Concert [12/10/2017]

After being in JIS for so many years, I finally got the guts and participated in one of Fireback’s House Concert (which was surreal). I had mixed feelings about performing but I did it anyways! The song I performed was Unbreakable Smile by Tori Kelly. The artist of this song is someone who I look up to and I love the message behind the song which is no matter how successful she became and heard about all the false rumors said about her, she still has that positive energy in her life and keeps on smiling and does not let that ruin her happiness in life. That’s why I chose this song because no matter how difficult life gets, always see through that little glimpse of hope and happiness in your life because there’s more to life than negativity.
