Hanzo has noticed that he is not the only one at this party with a sharp gaze.
He could swear that he has made at least fleeting eye contact with this man four times so far tonight. It is starting to unnerve him. Was it purely coincidence at that point? He could not be sure, but Hanzo had a job tonight. And if there was anything Hanzo could be expected to do with a job, it would be to honor his contract.
“I trust that there are no issues here, sir,” he tested, voice just a mite audible over the noise of the ball surrounding the two men.

♦ ∫ Diath’s eyes widened––he’d just seen a young woman with horns, strange ears, scales, and a tail shift into a cat. If that didn’t mean dragonborn druid, he didn’t know what would. Immediately, he raced over to the tiny, tawny cat. “I know this is gonna sound incredibly weird, but I think you’re a druid from the Forgotten Realms and that makes me happier than anyone else could ever know.”
“Trinket, dear...” Vex isn’t really making any attempt to stop her dear familiar from tugging sharply on the glove that he seems to think is a tug - of - war to, “Let go of that nice stranger’s glove.”

There were times in Hive City when Thrawn cursed his own habits of inspecting every person who passed his line of vision, trying to get as good a read on them as possible. Within the ranks of the Galactic Empire, this made sense; a soldier was a soldier, but it was important to understand what kind of soldiers served under him. However, in a city this diverse, getting a read on people only served to make the Grand Admiral realize that there were many unique people around him, people who were much more than what they looked like...
For example, the man who Thrawn had recently been watching. The Chiss’s past made it impossible to ignore him, for he moved with the same gait as a bounty hunter or thief of some sort -- careful, dextrous, methodical. In a place like this, a man with such training could be potentially dangerous...and Thrawn was on security duty.
“...Pardon me.” The Grand Admiral approached the man with a steady step, hoping to comfort himself and ensure that he would provide no trouble more than anything. “Are you enjoying the festivities? It is quite lively, would you not agree...?”
uncannilydodged replied to your post: "Do all trolls in your realm look relatively like...
Diath recalls one such being that might have been a troll. “They are magnificent,” he agrees. “I like yours, though. They’re quite practical. They don’t get in the way, and they’d work well if you were trying to be inconspicuous. I have a friend who’s a Tiefling and her horns are quite similar to yours.”
“INCONSPICUOUS IN COMPARISON TO WHAT? A HUMAN? I STILL HAVE GREY SKIN AND YELLOW EYES, NUMBNUTS. I’M NOT FOOLING ANYONE. AND WHAT’S A TEA-FLING? THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE NAME OF A SHITTY POP BAND.
ANYWAY. THANKS FOR THE EFFORT, BUT THESE DUMB THINGS AREN’T GOOD FOR ANYTHING. JUST SOMETHING TO BE MILDLY INCONVENIENT WHEN WEARING HATS.”

“Hello! My name is Percy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you before, but I haven’t really met everyone in this city. There’s so many people, and some of them don’t want to talk.”
Hopefully this wouldn’t be another conversation centered around how steam engines worked. Percy didn’t mind talking about tank engines, but when he talked to people the conversation subject usually headed in that direction.
