So this isn’t referencing the theory I made a while ago, but 2 days ago we got some more sneak peek images for episodes 5-8 from TophatBird Productions. So here are my thoughts (from left to right):
First image: Maybe it’s a dream sequence where our main character is unconscious and him falling is a metaphor for something, or maybe he literally falls off maybe a cliff.
Second image: Maybe it’s the new king and he’s looking out at his kingdom and it’s just a scenic shot?
Third image: Episode 5’s preview shows us that exact moment, there isn’t a lot for me to talk about this moment.
Fourth image (the one I actually want to talk about the most): It looks like the corrupted kings Fraeda killed are hanging out in some kind of house, they might just be chilling or their waiting for when the time comes when their ruler will come to end the lightbringers and rule the world.
Fan theory for Uncanny Kingdom by Tophatbird Productions: (spoilers for newest episode)
So uh, damn that ending was wild. I did not expect an explosion halfway through the season, so while we’re halfway through the season I wanted to talk about The Lord of Fog, Fraeda, the cultists and the scouts.
So around the 2:26 minutes the main scout mentioned that there are cultists protecting the last darkwell in Aelom, could it be that the cultists are Fraeda or Malacous’ followers? Fraeda did follow Malacous’ (not sure if that’s how you pronounce their name) teachings so could the cultists be another group of followers?
And what about the explosion at the very end? Maybe that’s the cultists’ way of helping Fraeda or even rebelling against her? Then at 2:40 minutes we see Fraeda use some kind of red spectral whip, maybe this could be a signal for the caught scouts or the cultists.
That explosion at the end definitely couldn’t have been done by Telltrox (Aelom’s warden) because it’d take a while for the darkling magic to kick in, plus the cultists were already there protecting it. So the leader, the guy standing over the darkwell brought their minions there then blew it up.
Personal headcannon for what happened and thoughts:
Malacus (maybe this is the right spelling I’m unsure) had a backup army, Fraeda and the darklings then the cultists. After Malacus was sealed in a ruby gem by the light bringer (cassian’s grandfather probably), they taught Fraeda his own knowledge and powers so she can get revenge for them. And maybe break the dark bringer free.
During the war between the light bringer and Fraeda, the cultists were on MIA and continued to learn Malacus’ teachings through other means. She also killed several kings (mentioned by her and they are present in her throne room) and corrupted them.
Fraeda retreated from the war because she knew the light bringer (Cassian’s father) wasn’t going to give up until she was either deceased or given the same fate as Malacus.
Then we come to episodes 3 and 4 (the episodes before and the mid-season finale), Fraeda is presumably asleep to conserve energy or to await the time when the balance is broken. All the while Quinton (her most reliable darkling) sets off and while at the castle of the capital they learn of Cassian’s father’s assassination and 5 days later reports back to Fraeda.
She’s obviously delighted at the news but questions why the balance hasn’t been broken, she tells her minions to go find any remaining darkwells. They scatter and later on two of them are caught then the goat lady is told by Telltrox to experiment on them.
Then episode 4 opens with Quinton and several darklings returning back then informing her of everything, she’s delighted at the end by the prospect of 1 darkwell still being there and gaurded by cultists then then she pokes her head out of the throne room and I think she releases some kind of red smoke or a ethereal red tendril to Aelom.
(All of this is now personal head cannon now) That tendril might be a signal to the cultists to tell them to pry it open (which they do), the explosion probably the dark energy being released. If my head cannon is right that means, she is connected to the cultists through Malacus’ magic.
These are all my own thoughts so take them with a grain of salt, and there is so much to learn about this universe.
