i love threadbare but it does have me breaking my rule about not designing things in advance. i am designing the guys of all time. i am doing mental gymnastics i dont even care about to figure out how best to satirize the regime.

frey is some kind of agouti abyssinian/ridgeback skinny pig and kairos is a satin silkie.

the satin coat has ethical issues because the genes that code for satin are linked with osteodystrophy ("satin syndrome") that causes fragile bones and teeth, resulting in chronic pain, difficulty eating, difficulty moving, and often death. which is kind of like what they did to the oracle of caeres if you think about it.

skinny pigs are a near-hairless guinea pig breed originating from crosses between a hairless lab strain of guinea pigs and regular domestic guinea pigs. so like they didn't make frey in a lab but it definitely feels like she's been living in one her whole life

there's also a script for a short comic that rapidly became a very long comic, and i ended up not making it because i realized it would be basedt-length, so i was like, why don't i just make basedt instead. and then i started making basedt instead.

but it has all of four pages!

it's about death and the bride she was cheated out of, and also the end of the world. it's like... i don't know how to put it... a minimization of basedt? a folktale inside of a folktale? i imagine it's like if sadren decided to make up a regional variation on the story of the snake and first woman.
