Aarune Headcanons

Since Aarune gets absolutely no love for some reason (I have yet to see a single fanfic about him!), I've decided to share some of my headcanons about him with you guys!

Aarune was born and raised in Castelia City. Despite this, he preferred hanging out in Pinwheel Forest compared to the hustle and bustle of the city. This influenced his decision to settle down in Fortree City.

Aarune has a huge sweet tooth and loves Castelia Cones. He also grows to love Lava Cookies. Actually, he loves any sweet thing he can get his hands on!

Aarune's parents were very neglectful, so much to the point that one day he just couldn't take it anymore and left "home" at the age of 14.

Because of his parents neglect, Aarune vows to treat every person he meets, especially kids, with kindness.

Not too long after leaving his "home", Aarune became a Pokemon Ranger. He liked it, but he couldn't picture himself being a Ranger for the rest of his life, so after a year of being a Ranger, he decided to quit.

One day while Aarune was walking through Lilycove City, he saw a lone May sitting by herself on a bench near the Contest Hall, her face tear-stained. Concerned, he approached his Lil Sis, asking what was wrong. She told him that she had invited her dad to see her perform in a Contest, but he never showed up, having the audacity to call May AFTER the contest to tell her that something had come up at the Gym. Let's just say that Aarune wasn't a big fan of her father after that. In fact, Aarune flat-out DESPISES him. From that day on, Aarune made it his number one priority to go to every single one of May's contests. Secret Bases could wait!

How Aarune got his Flygon is actually quite an interesting story. During his travels, Aarune happened upon a sickly looking Flygon one day and decided to see if he could help the poor dragon out. Turns out, the Flygon was a female about to give birth, much to Aarune's surprise. Aarune stayed with the laboring mother-to-be, comforting her the best he could, until she finally gave birth to feisty little male Trapinch. Unfortunately, the birth was too much for the mother Flygon and she passed away shortly after. Devastated, Aarune adopted the little Trapinch in a heartbeat, vowing to be the best surrogate human father he could be. (All Pokemon hatch from eggs, MY ASS! If snakes can give birth to live young, so can Flygon!)

One time while Aarune was visiting the Kalos region, Lumiose City to be exact, he got so distracted by the sights and sounds of the city that he accidentally bumped into someone. That someone turned out to be none other than Professor Sycamore, and let me tell you, it was love at first sight for the Secret Base Expert! So much In fact that Aarune was pretty sure he almost had a heart attack when Sycamore invited him to a cafe. Sycamore was oblivious to Aarune's affection though.

When Aarune noticed that May was warming up to the ex-Team Magma Leader Maxie, going so much as to invite him to her contests, he couldn't help but feel a little jealous. But that quickly faded away at a contest one day when he saw May looking for him in the crowd and smiling once she spotted him.

Aarune is a REALLY good singer! Aarune insists that he sounds like a dying Wailord.

I headcanon Aarune's voice to be either Norman Reedus or Bruno Mars. Don't judge me!

I just met Aarune (or should I say Uncle Aarune) and I already love him!!!

Is it just me or can anyone else picture him being voiced by Norman Reedus?
