I LOVE BUTTERS JFC HE IS SO AWESOME
Calen Michael
On Saturday morning, I woke up to a text from Kyle's sister-in-law letting me know she thought her water broke and they were heading to the hospital. Their original due date was January 27th, but we knew this baby was pretty big so it would most likely come a little early. Kyle and I were heading to Iowa on Saturday to celebrate a friends birthday, but those plans were quickly cancelled. I jumped in the shower to be ready in case we needed to leave at any moment, but we ended up waiting to hear more hour after hour. Kyle and I went to grab lunch and have a couple celebratory drinks before heading to the hospital. We were in the waiting room when Little Eli was born, so we wouldn't have missed this one for the world.
When we got to the hospital, it was slow going, but Nicole looked beautiful and things were going great. I was so confident in her that this time I insisted on having a picture with her before the baby came...
Kyle found ways to keep himself busy by checking out some of the equipment in the room. He cracks me up...
When the baby was ready, it happened so quickly that Nicoles sisters, Kyle and I were in the waiting room when her Mom came in letting us know the baby had arrived. Nicole and Eli chose to not find out the sex of the baby, so we were all so excited to find out what the baby was. Earlier, when I had arrived to the hospital I put a lot of emphasis on not being told what the baby was until Kyle and I went into the room ourselves to meet the our new niece or nephew. Unfortunately, it didn't happen like that and there were some slip ups before we got into the room. We were surprised about the name, though so that was exciting. We were in amazement at Baby Calen Michael. Pronounced KAL- EN We had to wait awhile to hold him but it was worth it. He came into the world at 6:34PM, weighing 7lbs 11oz and 20 inches long. Don't quote me on the length :)
Kyle is a proud Uncle, again!
And me...a proud Auntie!!
Here is one more shot of Kyle and his brother, Eli with Calen.
I can't wait for the memories to come with Baby Calen. We will head over this week to see him again and get more snuggle time. I am also really anxious to see Little Eli interact with his new baby brother. I'm sure it will be a fun few years ahead.
