The first time they met Feferi had finally been settled in a small cabin by herself, hastily cleared out and cleaned up. She learned later that it was usually reserved for the head of the camp but that he had given up his fancier cabin for her after some subtle "hints" from her guardian. Her disappointment was crushing as she was isolated even here and she headed for her first breakfast at the messhall gloomily, figuring she'd probably have her own private table where she could be away from those without her refinements. 

It was clear that the other campers had been warned about her. She felt her heart sink as people glanced her way and whispered with each other, but she straightened her back and kept her chin up. People moved out of her way, letting her right up to the front of the queue for food... everyone except for a skinny boy who was busily mashing buttons on a handheld game console.
