Silly little doodles of a silly little dragon
Nalestra
“The Void. The Old Gods. Unending. Inconceivable. Unyielding. Dead. For all of their blustering about their infinite truths, and for all the faith they put in their power, they failed to see the final truth. That it is not some unknown power, or some supreme cosmic force which decides the fate of existence, rather it is the will of those who exist. The Old Gods sought to deny will, hiding behind the temptations of false enlightenment and the promises of power, and look where it ended for them. One by one they fell, and now the last of their ilk has retreated beyond the stars, fearing the day mortals turn their sights on her. If there are any beings worth admiring, it is them; the countless souls who have stood time and time again defying the forces of the universe which seek to destroy them. The Champions of Azeroth. We have much to learn from them, and I shall not squander this gift...”
-Nalestra, first of the Pure Voidwings, reflecting on the nature of the void and of mortality.
Holy hell so it finally happened. So this is my very first dragon oc in WoW, and ngl i never thought i’d ever make one because...eh? lol. It never really seemed that unique, but after I got the Uncorrupted Voidwing mount for AotC, and after seeing the new void elf skins, I knew what i wanted to do. So here she is, Nalestra, first of the Pure Voidwings. Her story is quite literally based around the Uncorrupted Voidwing, in that she is one. She was one of the Voidwings which the Champions of Azeroth rescued from N’zoth, who was purified by Wrathion.
As for her characterization, I hope that the quote above puts her into perspective. She is convinced that the Old Gods, and in fact the Void itself, are so obsessed with the concept of their infinite realities that they cannot perceive the ones in which they are defeated, and more so she is extremely fascinated with the mortal concept of will. That beings, who by no right should be able to stand even the slightest chance against these cosmic monstrosities, have proven that not only will they stand against the forces of destruction, they will win. As such she stays mostly in mortal form (pictured above), and engages very directly with mortals and their lives, even sometimes to her own detriment. She is extremely curious, stalwart, and above all compassionate, because of all beings she knows what it means to have your life almost ripped from you, bound to the will of another. She will stand with mortals against all which seek their harm, and she will wield the forces of the void, of unbridled chaos, to bring order to this scarred world.
(apologies for bad image resolution, WoW has the screenshot resolution of a potato and i can’t draw lol)
A wonderful night shared between friends, we were ALL excited to go in there to get this amazing mount. While this was a carry, it was still work to get it but it was so, so worth it.
Of course I've tried running the raid itself.. but we didn't exactly get the best experience. But hey.
Uncorrupted voidwing is an uncorrupted voidwing.
Needlessly overdone sketch of my wow OC
