Late lunch/Early Dinner!! Finally got time to try the Spicy Chicken Joy Nasi Lemak. Fragrant and coconut infused rice. Not bad, as the rice is not overcooked or sticky mushy. Fluffy.. . Sambal and ikan bilis- Sambal is of the sweet spicy tangy version. Not overdone or burnt aftertaste. Ikan bilis gives added crunch and texture. Egg and cucumber slices common accompaninent in nasi lemak.. . The star of the meal - the Signature chicken wing. Nothing much to be said on it. Everybody knows how their chicken tastes like. Only thing i feel is that they should just include the usual gravy too. That would be an added bonus to the whole set. . Overall I'd give this a 4/5. Good portion. Good taste. The usual crispy pie shell is indeed filled packed with the 2 sauces. . Chocolate sauce is fine, velvety smooth. Very nice. . As for the salted caramel sauce:- I find that it is no doubt thicker, to the consistency close to custard. The taste is actually not to my liking; a little overcooked. 🤔 Burnt bitter aftertaste to it. I had expected a savoury taste coz it's salted caramel after all.. but no, it's not coming through at all... Today I had a 2nd try at it and still felt that it's that way :- 👎 for the salted caramel part. Like making Caramel flan 🍮 :- you already failed/burnt the caramel but STILL continued making the custard flan, wishful thinking it'll turn out fine and custard can masked down the burnt caramel part. . Overall, when it's eaten hot and right upon purchase:- I believe it can be masked By The chocolate part. Still palatable. . My rating for this:- 2/5.. 🤙This is just my view on it, you go try it yourself. Maybe it is to your liking. 2days ago a colleague had asked me to survey this newly Halal-certified Food Outlet. @bigfishsmallfishsg. Serves up a good selection of fish on the menu to meet the various tastes of its patrons. . As they have an Outlet at Northpoint City; that was where i went. I saw a big crowd there :- seated and waiting for their order to be called. also those for takeaway; waiting at the side whilst munching on the sampler platter of their crisps.. . after browsing their menu:- i ended up buying almost everything available on their menu except for their Salmon and seabass food choice. . I bought these few items:- ¤ Calamari and Bonito flakes ; this one was a favourite for my whole family. Bonito flakes finished BEFORE the calamari rings 😂 ¤ Dory and Crisps👍🏼 ¤ Shishamo ; would be nicer if crispier. ¤ Crispy silverfish 👍🏼 ¤ XO Shrimp with Coleslaw; Breaded shrimp coins served with coleslaw salad. another favourite by my family. ¤ fishcake sticks 🤙 ¤ Tilapia Sandwich in panini bread; if not for the herby bread, I'd give this a pass for its fishy taste.. ¤ Churros ; both types - Ondeh2 with gula melaka dip and plain ones with condensed milk added dip and mini marshmallows- nothing fancy about them. just that the churros sticks are fairly thick. . But overall is a good buy and i feel it's better if dinein than takeaway. I was feeling hungry after work. Partly coz i never had proper lunch; just a bottle of Pokka Milk Tea after Jumaah. . Walked past Hanis Cafe and bakery; saw these few on display. Decided to buy- Caesar's Salad, Potato salad and Tom yum Pasta salad. . Caesar's Salad- mesclun mixed veggies, sliced herbed chicken, Turkey bacon strips, cherry tomatoes, wholemeal croutons and a small tub of spiced mayonnaise dressing. This is a 4/10. Generous portion but taste wise it Could be better. $7.80. . Potato Salad- generous chunks of potatoes, sweet corn, sliced onions and spring onion. This is a 3.5/10. Taste is okay, to cut down on the onion coz it overpowered the whole dish already. Also making it a little too sweet. . Tom yum pasta salad:- penne pasta in Tom yum flavored mayonaise dressing. Also had a few chunks of shrimp.
