Scarlett kicked a lone rock as she walked along the sidewalk. Today had been utter crap. And Scott hadn't been to classes in weeks. She wondered if he even attended there anymore. Or if he had at all. Had she imagined him? Sometimes it seemed like it. Pausing in front of the turn to her little apartment, she paused. He had said he lived around here. Wondering if that were true, Scarlett decided she wasn’t quite ready to go home yet and continued walking.
Was it smart to be walking home at this time of night? Probably not. Did she care? Not in the slightest. It’s not like anything ever happened in this godforsaken town anyway. And was she thinking anyway? Even if he did live around here, what made her think he would be outside right now anyway?
Coming to a crossroads, hazel eyes looked about, unsure of which way to go. The wind had picked up, which usually meant a storm was coming. Blue and black strands danced together as she shook her head. “I’m being ridiculous.” She mumbled as she turned to go back home. However, a man stood before her, encased in shadows. Eyeing him warily, Scarlett couldn't figure out if he meant any harm or not. His stance was relaxed, his eyes an interesting shade of red she’d rarely seen. Yet the smile that crossed his face was of one that had caught their prey. Harm....she decided harm was the intention of this strange person.
Moving around him was not an option, that would only bring her closer, no, what she needed was distance. Turning to cross the road, her movement was halted as a hand wrapped around her upper arm, gripping with such strength, she could feel the blood pulse through her arm as it struggled to circulate. Before she had the chance to open her mouth, be it to scream, or say something to this madman, he had moved. Face to face, his red eyes seemed to burn with some deranged desire. A laugh escaped his lips just as Scarlett felt a pinch and then darkness welcomed her. Collapsing into the arms of the stranger, things did not look well for the petite young woman.
