Null isn't sure of what to do now that all of his offers had been rejected. It had all been going so well up until he'd /spoken without thinking/, now Valentin was even more distant. Watching the doll with a narrowed, suspicious gaze. Any traces of the amusement that had briefly been there due to Null emulating him gone.

But...

No. No, no, no. It wasn't all bad, it couldn't be. Valentin was still here, still talking to him, and he hadn't even responded yet!

"Yes, I am!" he says, just a bit too quickly before catching himself and clearing his throat "I...yes. I want to help you, I want to ease your pain. You shouldn't have to suffer..."

Holding himself to prevent reaching out, Null sways a little. What to say now? Valentin didn't want food, cleaning, healing, definitely not a bath...so what now?

"Ah....I should put out the fire now that I'm done cooking. Is it...okay if I come closer to do that? I won't touch you, I promise!"

 “Hmmmm....” The female was staring at the demon in front of her with eyes full of curiosity. She leaned forward just a little bit, making sure to observe the one standing on the platform below very intently. And to those who would take this strange situation out of context, this wouldn’t be something out of the ordinary. Just a human who got too curious for her own good. 

“Hmmm....” However. There were several facts that made it difficult to say it was something ordinary. This girl. She wasn’t there barely a moment ago. Nothing seemed to indicate her appearance. No magic, no flashy portal light show. One second she wasn’t there. And then she was. Observing the other like it was a normal Tuesday. 

“I have seen you...somewhere...before.” Flashes of emotion always came back to her. Nostalgia without any memories attached to it. She didn’t dwell on them, they caused her head to hurt. But she did recognize this demon named Luca. Little did she know, but the one who was her before, the eternal nightmare, the crawling chaos, did visit demonic worlds quite a bit. The scent, an imprint of energy from the Outer God likely not forgotten by the citizens of the world it has visited. Or maybe it was forgotten. Who knows...

“Don’t touch me.”

Val jumped as this person snapped at her. Squeaking softly and her eyes flashing almost white instead of the bright sky blue they usually were. She backed up a step, shaking and pulling at her thick pine green braids and then shoving her arms behind her back. Small fall flowers popped out of her hair around the crown of her head s she’d been startled enough to not have control of herself enough.

“I-I’m-I’m so sorry~ I won’t do that.... p-promise~!” Val tried to calm her rapidly beating heart. Letting silence stretch between her and this stranger she was hoping she could help for a little while till she had. 

“S-so... uhm what was it.. you needed help with...?”

Was his eyes deceiving him, or was that guy actually green? It was a costume.. right? Some makeup or something... But then again... The demon could sense something in the air. an aura that isn't normal. Off, so to speak. And it does seem to stem from the green guy... Maybe he was like him? Supernatural and inhuman? Aku was normally dark purple after all, so green wasn't that weird now that he thinks about it. But this guy was openly showing his true colors. How bold!

Slowly he approached the other and speaks up "Aren't you worried of alarming the humans with your outward appearance?"

Meditation was one of the more important parts of him mastering his own abilities to further extend. And Kokushibou almost never missed any chances to partake in the act of the meditation. Just like today, just like always, he silently sat down at the hill, overlooking the mortal’s city. While he was a demon, he, none the less, took little from them and more from his human self. However, his rest was about to get interrupted. He didn’t mind much, though. 

“You can....come out...Azazel...you...want something?” He didn’t even turn around to face the other demon. However, his face turned slightly, as if he was gesturing to the fact that he was listening to them. Other playful members of the same race never ceased to amaze them in how different they all were. He, however, won’t admit that.

Roaming through the wilderness beyond the Wasteland to look for food was nothing new for Howl, and within an half an hour or so, he’d been able to capture three deer which he swiftly killed, so all-in-all, it had been a successful food run. Hoisted over his shoulder, all three deer were tied together with a strong, decent length of rope with the other end wrapped around his left fist. The only thing left to do at this point was strip the deer down completely and cook them, and all the necessary equipment for that was stashed away at the tiny site he had cleared a few years back; it had been setup near the river so that cleaning up was easy.

Out in the wilderness, there was always a sense of peace that he still didn’t really understand which was different than how he felt in both the Wasteland and New While; the feelings there were heavier--more pressuring--and harder to deal with. Aside from that, both Major and the Master still resided there, unfortunately.

It didn’t take long to get there, and upon retrieving the trusty knife he used, Howl got to work removing the fur first. Though a time consuming process, he stripped two out of the three deer before moving on.
