A teeny tiny update, content-wise When a short break to celebrate a birthday turned out to be a few week vacation away from Tumblr, LMAO. A little bit horrible but I’ve genuinely recovered really well because there was a spike of a creativity flunk / art block and I feel like my ability to write well was hindered. There wasn’t some magical re-learning of my writing of some kind and I’ve come to terms that writing is more than just writing. It’s a hobby to desire to constantly self improve with it and flesh out characters when you get new material, new forms of worldbuilding in mind. Thanks to my lovely partner, I’ve got a good idea how I want to portray characters and how I actually want to flesh them out. How I want to present them to the ‘ audience ‘ and how I want them to be portrayed in my hands. I’ll be making major changes, such as removing a bundle of muses for the sake of reworking them (not exactly drastic appearance reworks, but maybe how I write as them, how to display their behaviors and more) and update the biography formatting I use for my muses. I’d like to add more details to a muse without over-describing. Technically, It isn’t exactly an issue for me because the interest of a muse depends on the person, but that’s a personal choice of mine -- I do feel like additional details, lesser writing on particular things could aid in me understanding my own muses better. Knowing specifics of them, understanding the differences they share among my other muses and what makes them unique. I struggle with the idea that my muses generally become oversimplified and ‘easy’ to read and expect specific behaviors from them, which is both a curse and a plus. I’d love to find a balance in that so that my muse remains interesting an eye catching to the person that looks into them.

While reading in some cafe was always a lovely thing to do. The experience would always be soured when someobe tries to swipe contents from her purse without permission, like the gentleman behind her. Luckily for her, events she has gone through have taught her to be quite perceptive of her surrounds.

"You know, just because I am reading doesn't mean I won't notice you stealing from me." She spoke up just before the potential theft occurred. "Unless you want me to call my bodyguards who are sitting just a few tables away from us by the door, I suggest you go ahead and take a seat with me." It wasn't a bluff, after an incident with the paparazzi, her uncle hired a pair of fellows to help keep her safe.

It certainly piqued his interest when she hurriedly retrieved her identification card and felt rather indifferent about her other belongings, though brushed it off as mere worry for potential identity theft. “If It is something like a subject such as business, then I wouldn’t blame you. Couldn’t arse myself a minute or two to read anything like business. Finance handling. Economics. Statistics. Listing out the varieties already makes me yawn just by thinking.” Just for comedic timing, he had to momentarily raise his hand to cover his mouth after a lengthy yawn. A result after paying little time for sleep because his little brother purchased a copy of ‘Smash bros’. And as a result, Rika grew overconfident in his belief that he could best him at least once. Despite that desired goal, he ended up falling asleep after fewer hours, with a controller in hand before his set alarm rose him from the depths of slumber with the tune of a rooster crowing. “Nice to meet you too, eyes-behind-her-head. I’d prefer addressing you by a name or a nickname If you got that going too.” It puzzled him that she chose to offer a drink; especially considering previously he was attempting to swipe her belongings to his hold. “Well, since you’re offerin’, I’ll be asking our dear waiter for a cold caramel latte. Oat milk preferably as a substitute. Don’t really like the flavor behind regular milk.” Lowering his hand, he previously held in a gesture to momentarily show his attention was taken; and he’ll return to her attention in a minute. Giving her a moment to pick up a desired variant of her own beverage, she intended to order. “In all honesty ... Yes. Usually, the belongings I swipe from, originate from people I view potentially carrying too many Benjamins' carelessly, though your case was really just ... An open, vulnerable bag. Just seducing me to steal from it.” He said, with the implication that even If there was no money to be found, he had the irrational impulsive to steal ones’ belongings. “That aside, the epithet is used for a reason. I fund the stolen wealth to non-fraudulent organizations that don’t pocket the donated sums to themselves. I could give you a list of projects on one hand that undoubtedly take use of their funds only for their volunteers and the project itself. None of the said projects are one of the best known, big three.”

Family dinners weren’t a thing with his prior family, though the Erblindet household make it a must. Depending who is at home the most, they’re the ones likely to prepare dinner. As Seiko has the preference to reside in his home for longer periods of time ( exception for when he has to go to work ) he takes up the duty to prepare a nutritious dish or order some take out if his father requests it instead. Acts of service is one of his love languages, so he’s happy to put out some of his energy into making a good meal. Besides, It’ll refrain Jay from constantly purchasing heavy foods from the kiosks and maintain his ideal weight for mercenary work. When Jay is away for weeks to complete few missions that are time consuming, Seiko spends a few nights at the place of his adoptive grandparents (parents of Jay) and has dinners there. They’re incredibly welcoming and usually try to introduce their grandson to new varieties of meals he hasn’t tried yet. Not to say that he is picky, usually he isn’t motivated to discover new foods because he hates spending money on food that he isn’t certain that he will like it. They counter his stingy nature buy purchasing it themselves if they recall he isn’t familiar with a specific product.

Just a heads up! I have a thread tracker and I’ve put out all threads into the list. I’m sure forgetfulness is a natural thing in our community as writers, so I’ve just compiled all the threads I currently have. Just so mutuals’ can see If I owe them a reply and they don’t have to worry about their turn and vise versa.

One of the best tips for writing descriptions of pain is actually a snippet I remember from a story where a character is given a host of colored pencils and asked to draw an egg.

The character says that there’s no white pencil.  But you don’t need a white pencil to draw a white egg.  We already know the egg is white.  What we need to draw is the luminance of the yellow lamp and the reflection of the blue cloth and the shadows and the shading.

We know a broken bone hurts.  We know a knife wound hurts.  We know grief hurts.  Show us what else it does.

You don’t need to describe the character in pain.  You need to describe how the pain affects the character - how they’re unable to move, how they’re sweating, how they’re cold, how their muscles ache and their fingers tremble and their eyes prickle.

Draw around the egg.  Write around the pain.  And we will all be able to see the finished product.

Insect in the gardeners Eden

After a night out among companions that lead to getting themselves heavily intoxicated while having some energy to proceed the party at home, the event gradually lead to each night-goer passing out to slumber in available spaces. With some managing to, quite literally, pass out on the floor by the very exit of the owners home. One of those said party-extremists being Dimitri, found himself fallen asleep by the the exit curled up in the miniature entrance corridor. Hardly shifting a muscle throughout the remaining night, although the chirping of the early birds have began to pester him. Even more so, -- Sounds of snipping ... Clearly from the outside, far too early to his liking to accept any remote noises. With his hair disheveled and dress shirt being slightly wrinkled and unbuttoned, he gathered himself from the floor before patting himself down from the dirt left at the carpet. Peeking through the small window placed within the door to examine the person who was behind the noise. Much couldn’t be seen as the gardener faced their back while fitting themselves with a work apron and a straw-hat to prevent plant remnants on their frame, although It wasn’t difficult to deter that the worker seemed relatively short. At least in comparison to his height. Nosy, easily-irritable when anything inconveniences him ... Dimitri chose to investigate and exit himself from the home just to approach the gardener while they were preoccupied with the plant fence. Just to give them a piece of his mind, so they wouldn’t be SO noisy at such hour. -- Christ, do humans really wake themselves THIS early? He’d think about it internally. “Such noises at an hour like this. I’d be surprised If no one came around to complain a tad bit.” He’d say, though his soured expression didn’t meet with his joking tone under the words. Having no issue to put his arm on their shoulder to gather their attention. “I’d suggest you to keep it a little down on the noise. Even if It takes to snip a leaf individually.

There was no moment for him to consider ones’ privacy before he sat close by to Remy and laid his hand upon his shoulder, just to show himself as more welcoming than threatening. It was a habit of his play along with the idea when someone showed even a glimmer of nervousness around him; for whatever reason he caused the growing anxiety. He’ll observe what the gardener has to say and how he could influence him into participating into his impulsive adventures. Toying with strangers he would not ever see again was part of his deal. “Remy.. Quite a unique name. I’m confident your boss is happy to hire you. You seem to be like his preferred eye-candy preference.” Uncertain whether the statement was true, but he seemed to play it off eventually with a light chortle. “I’ve brought you in just to have some entertainment and company. No point in accomplishing your job when your boss won’t see you doing it well.” Pausing for a moment, tilting his head aback to observe his passed out companion in the distance. Right. He didn’t seem like he would be active for a few hours to begin with. Returning his attention to Remy, having a spark of an idea to entertain the more visually-appealing companion. “I’ll be your host instead. How about a drink to soothe that building anxiety? You’re free to take a personal pick. We have fruity cocktail variations laying around, one type of beverage that emits a blue fire when lit with any given fire-source. Another one that tastes bitter on the tongue but feels sweet and savory when you swallow it.”

Question: Should I highlight the fact that some of my OCs are familiar with developmental disorders / mood disorders / disorders in general? I used to avoid the idea of mentioning such matter unless briefly mentioning it, but I’ve been seeing a lot of mutuals’ in their  OC biographies highlight the fact that their muse is ADHD / Autistic / has PTSD / [ insert other possible disorders ] and I’ve been like. Curious. Whether does it matter if I highlight that fact in their bios ...

I love having a direction/goal to work the characters towards – when I write fiction on my own, I like having goals and plot points, like romances, family and friend relationships, rivals and enemies.. why wouldn’t I like having the same with RP? RP is just collaborative fiction writing!

There’s no shame in liking ships, or even RPing for ships. There’s tons of people in the world who love to read romance novels, and no one tries to tell them that’s wrong or worse than liking mysteries, or fantasy adventure. Neither preference is wrong, it’s just that – a preference!

Artemis is not unfamiliar with shapeshifting herself, commonly relies on said ability to rid of her horns to have a more humane presentation when exploring the human realm. Of course, she could claim said horns are nothing but a ‘cosplay accessory’ but the woman would rather pass those questions as well If strangers ended up being curious enough to question it. With such detail aside, she is fully capable of transforming herself into the opposite sex of herself. That said, she generally can be anything hence why the ability is called shapeshifting, but in her preference, she gives an entirely different identity to her male forme. Claims it as a ‘ male form ‘ for the sake of simplicity. Calls it under the name of ‘ Archie ‘, carries the same hairstyle and hair length. Does not find the need to alter her main and favorable physical characteristics. Desiring to present a more masculine build and form, she does provide herself with a tone build; If not more defined by the torso and abs. Carries four (4) mounds of muscle at the abdomen, maintains a similar chest size as the original body (sees no reason to have a small masculine chest If his body does not match to his original frame) as preference for presentation. Attire preference in the form? While he DOES love to look intriguing and sexy ... It’s funny for him to dress a little bit corny. Hawaiian shirts or sleeveless tank tops with slim-fit jeans. Granted, he makes the attire choice look quite good on his frame, especially when the shirt is slightly unbuttoned to present a golden necklace he was gifted by one of his close friends. Loves to ‘gender-hop’ in some occasions to see how his interactions would go when interacting with women interested in men or men with the preference for male-presenting partners.

This chart of female muses isn’t relevant to the muses I carry in my blog, BUT by association towards Jay ( as they are his aunts ) It would be noteworthy to mention how I’ve established the idea of ghouls in my world building and their functionality / presentation. For context, Jay Erblindet’s family line form his mothers’ end are ghouls. Carrying some similarity to vampires when It comes to flesh and overall blood consumption, but having their own personal differences in some particular ways that would differentiate the two species. Hostility wise, they are far more dangerous in comparison to vampires and even the Dracula himself. They have a natural high adrenaline bar and when having a remote taste of blood that is human – The blood-thirst arises and they will feast on those that are closest to them. At times, It doesn’t even matter if the target isn’t exactly human. Maria, or known as Maria Pavoni - Erblindet (58), is the mother of the well known greaser vampire and from who he inherited most of his traits from. Appearance wise It’s easy to discern based on the fact he carried out the blue eyes gene as well as the black curly hair ( while not exactly curly, he’s horrid with finding proper hair care items for his hair type ) although did not carry out the fear neither the allergy for feline animals. In fact, he strongly loves the feline kind. No matter how big the cat is. As long as It is a cat. A tiger will do as well. That to be said, his of fear of water is amplified through an inherited ghoul gene of their natural fear of water. You see, ancestor ghouls in no way had ability to survive lakes as their natural habitats had no nearby water areas, thus allowing them to be susceptible to drowning. Because of this fear aroused from ancestors, It easily can pass through generations until It is either no long apparent or the last individual dies with said fear. Because of aunt Nessa (60), this could easily pass through any future relative. And, It passed down to Jay. Because Jay almost did drown as a child, his uneasiness towards water areas naturally grew from uneasiness to genuine, distressing fear. Much to his luck, he luckily didn’t inherit his aunts fear of fire. Hardly could warm up his cabin house without tinkering with the fireplace. An allergy obtained from dearest, eldest aunt Deidre (67) – He has some allergy towards holy items, though It only causes rashes specifically at his hands. Unknown why that particular area exactly, but It remains unknown and dealt with wearing gloves. While aunt Demeter (49) is listed as having mild anxiety over crucifixes, Jay’s own fear from such item stems from his own fathers’ fear over the said object. His father being an reputable Dracula under the name of Ludwig Von Erblindet, It is no surprise some fear of holy items would naturally pass down to a spawn; especially when they are partially a vampire. With this said, I loved discussing this to establish the fact that while Jay is to a degree dangerous and capable of many things – He still qualifies for the title as a vampire that COULD be weakened when the weaknesses are known, whether inherited or that arose from a traumatic event.
