Day 2 - Accidental Undereating
Today was pretty hectic. I did Cize again this morning, but then I didn’t eat breakfast and headed to NYC for an interview. With the heat at almost 80, I was sweating bullets all the way there. By the time I got home, my energy was completely ZAPPED.
When I got home, I made myself 3 scrambled eggs with onions and avocado. For dinner, I ate some salmon and some stringed beans.
However, in my effort to avoid carbs and sugar to get my blood sugar levels down, I ended up with a headache and feeling fainty. My family and I went to a church that had NO air conditioning and I had to sing with a choir. My energy was so low, my Nana drove me home.
Ironically enough, my Nana believes my blood sugar levels were too low because I didn’t eat enough. She was right. I didn’t even stop to think that with all the energy that I exerted throughout the day that I under ate. My caloric intake for today between lunch and dinner was probably 900 calories. Add in my 30-minute high energy workout, my 1.5 hour commute to the city, and singing in a hot church and you’ve got yourself a disaster.
Upon arriving at home, I ate 10 Ritz crackers with a 35 calorie Laughing Cow cheese spread, a little salsa, and a side of blueberries. A weird concoction, I know, but it did the trick. Moral of the story is that just as much as I watch what and how much I eat, I also need to pay attention to how little I eat.
