"No, absolutely not!" I protested. "Y/n, you know I wouldn't ask you, if I couldn't. But Daniel and I got a lead on Dotty and it's in Texas! It might take ages to find another lead!" Peggy begged, Peggy Carter does not beg. In all the time I've known her, she rarely begged. "Fine! But you owe me. By the way who's my partner?" I asked. She fell silent before mumbling something I couldn't hear. "Hmm what was that?" "I'll tell you later, Thompson has the file, ask him." I roll my eyes even though she couldn't see them. "I'll get them tomorrow. What do I need to pack" she's rattled off a list and told be that it had to be packed by tomorrow since the mission started in the late afternoon. "It's late, goodnight Peg." "Night n/n. And thank you." "Yeah, yeah night." I hung up. Time to pack. The next morning "L/n!" Thompson shouted. "Yes?" I responded walking over to his office. Suitcases in hand "Carter said to give you the file for the case, something about you taking her place?" "As a matter of fact I am taking her place in the undercover role. Though she hasn't told me exactly what it is." He flashed me a smirk. "Well, little Miss. Wife, guess you'll just have to figure it out.." He grinned walking away. I took a second to process what he said. "Wait what?" I quickly scan the file. Only gaining the information that we have to be in the look out for more spies like Dotty in the suburbs and the fact that Jack and I will be husband and wife for as long as it takes to apprehend the spy we don't even know exists! ~~~~time skip(sorry)~~~~ "Ready Mrs. Thompson?" Jack teased. I groaned "As you wish my dear husband." "C'mon we'll take my car, O'Brien will be dropping our stuff off." I nod messing with the false wedding and engagement rings on my hand. "We can discuss boundaries and the finer details in the car. It's a long drive." Jack assured picking up his suitcases, I picked up mine and everyone wished us luck. "How will the office survive without you?" I joked as we walked out. "Flynn will be acting under my orders through letters, telegraphs, and phone calls. Every once and a while we can drive up and claim we're visiting family." I nod along. "And what do we do for work?" I ask as we put out things in the trunk. "I work for a phone company, and we live in the suburbs, you're a house wife doll. Plus someone has to watch the neighborhood." I huff and get in the car. "So, how did we meet, darling?" I say, tone dripping with sarcasm, as he got in and started the car. "I don't know work?" "I don't work." I shoot back. He chuckled, "A cafe work for you?" "Yes and speaking of cafe's let's stop at one to get (preferred drink.)" "Of course." He replied. "And coffee." He adds. I nod and we drive away. I can do a part two but it's late and I might not get enough motivation to finish this so I'll leave it here and tell me if you want a second part.
