“Yep?” I step onto the porch and close the door gently.
He steps back, slightly stunned. He's in his traditional style priestly robes
“I don’t know what you think you’re doing- but it needs to stop… you look like a fool”
“What is that?.” He's looking at my pipe
“This is a chillum” He's so clueless
I see his lips purse for a moment.
I step towards him slightly, I blow a large exhale of smoke in his confused face.
He gasps and stumbles back, he flails his arms around, “What is that?!.”
Hm, “Hemp, you heard of it?”
“You’ve never smoked it before?”
“Come here,” I beckon him closer, "I'll let you take a breath”
“You need to stop terrorising my town!.”
I stop trying to get under his skin, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, father”
I walk to him in long strides. I grab his face harshly, he lets out a deep gasp. I take a breath, inhale and slowly breathe out.
He falls over suddenly, “You’ve just stolen my soul!.”
I burst out laughing, “It’s just cannabis, calm yourself, father”
I kneel on top of him. “Whats this about me terrorizing your people?”
He yells out in pain as I sit on his knees to stop him escaping from me. “You!--” Tears prick his eyes
“I want to know where these allegations stem from, father… I don't take kindly to being called a fool.”
“In what way am I causing distress to you and your people?.”
“They keep reporting to me about nightmares. It started when you came to town!”
“Mh…. well that can’t be right… I've only been here a month.” It definitely was me. “It must be the cheese”
“The what?.” He leans back
“It supposedly gives you nightmares… something in the brain”
“You’re doing something!.”
“Can’t it just be a coincidence?”
“Why?” I see where this is going, father... “Is it because of the color of my skin? Mh?... Is that it?.” I blow smoke in his face.
He lets out a slight whimper of discomfort
“You hate me because I'm not as clean and fresh as you?”
“You’re perfect, porcelain skin… how ever could I compete?” I roll my eyes
“You need to get off my property.” I'm sick of him “Now.”
