Like the way he acts at the tiefling party in Act 1, trading little quips with his siblings. So fun to imagine him being playful like that with Tav…and maybe being a downright menace with it like you imagined here 😉 So unfair that Larian gave us these little in-game morsels of him being flirty and saucy and didn’t let us smooch his stupid face

Hello anon!! 🖤 Thank you for expressing interest in that fic, first of all! I sat down to answer you and accidentally went off on a vent session tangent. But I have a few other asks about this, so I thought I should post anyway.
I’m really sorry that I haven’t finished Birds & Bees yet! I promise I haven’t abandoned it. I still have a lot of chapter 3 drafted up, and I revisit it often. I didn’t expect this many people to subscribe or follow it, and as a result went into it 100% pantsing with zero outline. (Learn from my mistakes!!) Basically, something about the last chapter just feels off. I get this itchy feeling like I wrote myself into a corner. I’ve never felt this way while working on my other fics, and it’s shaken my confidence in my instincts quite a lot, which just makes things harder. (And yes this is a WILDLY over-dramatic way to talk about a smut fic)
Anyway…that’s kind of where I’m at with it, I suppose. I’m afraid I don’t have a timeline for when I’ll post the last chapter. I wish I did. Should I just publish what I have to get it out the door? I don’t know. I’ve considered it. But I also really don’t want to disappoint people or put out something I don’t like. It’s hard to figure out what to do, but I want to give myself a bit more time. I’m sorry that that’s the answer I came up with! I hope you understand! 🖤
On a related note...you guys. Christ almighty. Work has destroyed my health this year. My department has been short since June, I’m working overtime every week with zero support from management, I feel so so drained not just creatively but emotionally and mentally. I take insomnia meds for the first time in my life because the anxiety keeps waking me up. 🙁 I’m looking hard for a new position, but it’s very much an employer’s market in my part of the US right now. Opening rejection emails at the end of the day is just an extra dose of discouragement. Writing should be easy, but unfortunately everything feels hard right now. I don't know if that makes sense.
But that’s part of why I love coming on here and seeing all the BG3 fandom joy and creativity! I know I’m not posting as regularly right now, but I hope you know that I still browse every day and read all your fics and look at your art and love it all. This fandom remains a lasting source of happiness and inspiration for me, and that’s not going away any time soon!

Personally, as a lifelong Trekkie and Spock girlie, I have a lot of biased opinions about this (pon farr anyone? no?) So I may not be the person to ask. My short opinion would be yes, probably it would be a more painful situation without a partner. Or at least, it would likely be more drawn-out to go solo during a heat/rut cycle. That makes sense to me from a biological standpoint (don't look too closely at my logic, it is shaky)
