This stable ladder and proceeding ladder connect the upper levels with the 6th level of the DeSoto Mine. We found this ladder 🪜 passage in a short drift (tunnel) in the 6th level of the DeSoto Mine. From our exploration, these ladders are one the few (if only) easily accessible and stable ways to enter the upper levels of the DeSoto Mine. The short drift we found them in was interestingly blocked 🚫 shortly after the ladder with concrete blocks. Timbered ore chute. Near the entrance to one of the large stopes in the 600 level of the DeSoto Mine is this pictured ore chute. While some of the timbers are noticeably weathered, they still hold firm. The wood has been tagged for unknown reason, perhaps pointing towards the exit of the mine.
