Her eyes fluttered open and she inhaled sharply when she saw the landscape that surrounded her. Engulfed in a sea of green, the blades of grass ticked her feet, which she now realized were bare. It was a bright day, and the blue enveloped her field of vision, spotted with white cotton balls drifting here and there. Her golden hair floated in wispy tendrils around her as a cool breeze shimmied its way through the vast expanse of green. Somewhere in the distance she thought she heard someone calling out to her. “Laelia? Can you hear me?” The voice was muffled and frantic, as if they couldn’t quite find her. Laelia continued to drift on, in no particular direction, but enjoyed the feeling of the coolness between her toes. The muffled voice came again, “Clear!” it seemed to shout, and the ground below her begin to tremble, and the few trees within distance dropped their leaves with a soft inaudible thud. Just as suddenly as it had started the shaking stopped, leaving Laelia feeling extremely confused and peculiar. “Clear!” There it was again, that hushed shouting. What on Earth would it be? And the ground began to shake and shudder, stopping just as quickly as it had done before. There was a few moments of silence until the muffled voice, even more hectic than before, “Laelia open your eyes, please!” But Laelia’s eyes were open, how could they not be while she was taking in her surroundings. Being extremely confused and all the more puzzled, she shrugged and continued her leisurely pace through the ocean before her, the muffled crying receding into the distance. Laelia smiled and happily sighed, before strolling off through the never ending beauty that lay before her.
