Why posting a new story instead of continuing wih the inuparents one first?
Hi there,
I am sensing a little frustration or maybe even anger in your ask. However, I can understand your feelings. This ask appeared in my inbox a few days after the EreMika fic. I don’t know if you follow me on tumblr or not and if you have seen the information post regarding UTCM on my blog. It has been pinned on top for a while before I started the Request Contest.
UTCM will continue in May this year. I have announced this even before the EreMika fic was posted.
I had to put my writing on hiatus due to my health. Although I feel responsible for the continuation story to my readers, my health will always come first. Also, I have announced dates before that, unfortunately, I had to postpone again. This time, I picked a date much further ahead, knowing for sure I would be able to manage that.
My post-covid brain, if you will, makes it harder for me to write and read. I get migraines fast. So, I will have to do things in bits. Which is very annoying, because writing works best when you’re in a ‘flow’. But it is as it is and hopefully it well get better.
Also..., however, I can’t speak for all writers, you should know that a writer’s mind can be fickle. Mine sure is.
At the end of 2020 and even now Attack on Titan (AOT) is hype. The manga finished this month and the first part of the last anime Season has finished airing. The fandom is very, very active and my tumblr dashboard and twitter, etc... are all filled up with posts regarding this series. A lot of them beautiful fanart. I can get inspiration from all kinds of things, but most of all my mind is very visual. I had AOT on the brain and honestly... I still have. And it needs to come out.
I am glad I have inspiration for during the last year, due to my health, my brain felt rather dead inside. So having inspiration again to write really feels amazing.
Have I done nothing for the inuparents story? No. I have done plenty.
I have done research about the history regarding the era this fic is staged in. About samurai, traditions, rituals, clothing, locations, etc. I looked for photo’s, fanart, etc... to make sure my brain kept being fed inuparents related imagary as in to boost my inspiration. And I have set up drafts for the future story line.
I am sorry to have dissapointed you in choosing a one-shot story as a come-back instead of a new chapter of UTCM.
I also had other reasons to chose a one-shot story first.
I have not written anything for almost a year. I am even not satisfied about the finished result of the come-back story and am already working on a revision and extended version. I feel the story is not at its full potential. I was not at my full potential.
When I continue UTCM I want to be at my best again, where possible. And UTCM is a great project. I need to exercise again before I can take on bigger projects again.
Writing is like a sport and as an athlete you cannot just run a marathon after not having trained for almost a year. You need to build it up.
My last update post was in April this year when the Covid pandemic started to become a real threat.
Unfortunately, I have also been infected with the virus and my body has been fighting it for weeks with the only result of ‘hanging in there’, but not much more. It is a real nasty virus that is taking a huge toll on by body with my heart already almost giving up once. However, I have every full intend to beat this thing, but I have no illusion of the long road ahead of me, still.
I have also NO intention in abandoning UTCM! But, will there be an update this year? I honestely just don’t know. I wish I could make promises, because the hiatus is already going on too long, however, I don’t want to make any promises I can’t keep, either. My main focus is beating this virus first and then my recovery.
It might seem foolish for how much energy does it take to write, right? Well, trust me as I say that even typing this takes up a lot of energy at the moment. Everything takes a lot of energy right now. It feels like my body is running on a low battery 24/7 and every intake of breath hurts. I wanted to give my followers an update for I can understand it might seem I have abandonned this blog and writing. I know the frustration of reading (or starting to read) an unfinished chapter fic and suddenly realizing your beloved story will probably never be updated again. It is not something I want to ever do or ever wish to do. But with this second hiatus, that has been going on for months, I can understand that UTCM might appear to be one of those abandonned stories. I just wanted to rectivy this rumor.
For those of you who are also fighting this virus infection: Don’t give up and I hope you will all get well soon!
For those of you who are still healthy and have not (yet) been invaded by this parasite: Obey the rules of your country, for they were made for a reason. This virus is not a simple flu. Protect yourself. Protect your loved ones ♡

This is just a posting schedule until June next year. It doesn’t mean the story will be finished on June21! At this time I don’t know how many chapters this continuation will be, but I am certain it will be over 20 chapters. Please note that the mentioned dates are indications. This is my posting schedule as it is now.
I suspect there will be a holiday hiatus somewhere in either July, August or September that skip the update schedule for a month. That is why I haven’t scheduled after June 2020, yet.
As you may have read on her blog page, my lovely tumblr waifu and friend @lenbarboza will be turning this story into a doujinshi. I can’t be blessed more ♥ Thank you hun 😘 It will be amazing to watch this story truly come alive.
I just got caught up with the story Underneath the Crescent Moon and I adore your writing so much! I wanted to ask a question. In your perspective what age is Izayoi in the story? By the way keep up the awesome story my Inuyasha fangirl is living alive 😂😂😍😍😘😘😄😄
Hi,
Thank you for the lovely comment ♥
I hope you noticed the postponed scheduled date for the next update. Due to circumstances there won’t be a new chapter today. My apologies.
The next update for this fic will be in June. As this story takes place in the past (over 500 years ago) where people didn’t live that old and married young, I picture Izayaoi being around 16 years old. As in late 16. Perhaps 17 or almost 17? I realize, that it does make her a minor and that it might raise all kinds of issues to some readers, but it was a whole different time if we look at the historical facts of Feudal Era Japan.
In the series, Sango had her first child too when she was around 17 years old. A fact that is easy to forget. She and Miroku got married when she was around 16 years old.
Izayoi is much more mature compared to a person of that age in modern time.
Since you asked the question how I see her in my perspective, I answered honestly. But I can understand if readers prefer to keep the information of her age blank. It is easier to accept her relationship with Inuyasha’s father if they can picture her being 18+. Which is fully understandable with the norms and values of this century.
It is probably why Takahashi had the 3 years time gap between Inuyasha’s en Kagome’s reunion. It was a convenient event that caused for Kagome to reach the legal age of modern time to marry. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t condone sexual relationships with minors! But I see this as a historical story even though it has a fantasy genre. If it were a real historical fic, than she would probably be even younger, which would be out of my comfort zone to write! So, to ease my mind I picture her as close to 18 years as possible without making it feel unrealistic to something that takes place over 500 years ago when women were considered adults at a far younger age.
