April is Autism Awareness Month: We have to raise awareness for all of the people on the autism spectrum. As more people are being diagnosed with autism all around the world, it is time for us to raise awareness and for us to really understand what autism is. To define autism, it is a developmental disorder that affects communication and behavior. Autism is made up of all different conditions that can be characterized by certain challenges in social skills, repetitive behaviors, and speech and nonverbal communication. In addition to that, people with autism are just as beautiful and special as you are. They just like you have unique strengths and differences that most people miss. There is no “normal”. There is only what is. Wake up and educate yourself and allow your awareness to create acceptance without judgement and fear. Don’t be a victim of your own intellectual immaturity. Become aware and then let your awareness spread.
