ALRIGHT GAMERS I've been cooking up an Undertale Steven Universe au and since I'm running out of time today for a little doodle I thought I might as well share these two!

I've cooked up more than what's written here, but enjoy!

Papyrus is a Pearl and Sans is a runt Dumortierite quartz soldier.

Papyrus:

Originally Gaster's pearl, a little off-color due to being the scientist's (for one reason or another)

Handed off to Sans in the events following Gaster's "death"

Sans

When he emerged he was a runt Dumortierite quartz soldier, leading to him being perfect fodder for Gaster's experiments: A gem that came out right enough to still be useful for something underground.

During experimentation his gemstone was chipped and Gaster force-fused the shard of a sapphire to Sans to "make him whole again". His eye is always blue as that's the part of the sapphire. This explains why he's able to read souls and gemstones, has low HP, and can effortlessly dodge.

The reason the two are alive and well in Snowdin despite both of them being crimes against nature (at least in the gem world) is because of a contract King Asgore found. Once Gaster was shattered and clustered due to falling into one of his own creations, Papy and Sans were two of the only monsters left at the lab. King Asgore found a contract that he signed with Gaster to leave the two alive, and although he can no longer remember the scientist, he decided to respect the contract. The king reassigned Papyrus to Sans to Snowdin, a small town where few gems would get many ideas, requiring Sans to be a Sentry under Undyne's watchful eye. After discovering his impeccable ability to read gemstones, he's also assigned the "Judge" role in Asgore's castle.

Understone

"We live under a rock."

This had become a common observation among those living in the Orn Wild settlement, a place which still lacked a name after so much time had passed. The answer was returned equally: "We've lived under a rock for years, albeit some longer than others." The latter took into account the handful of Duskwights among them who likely began their lives in caverns and other underground dwellings. This was more spacious by far, and for those who found it unsettling there were natural caves among the crags into which they could retreat. "At least now it's a literal rock instead of metal with a bloody sword over our heads," came another reply.

Even the Goblins who lived alongside them had started referring to them, and themselves, as "Underlanders". Their manner of speaking was simplistic but completely logical, and not unlike how some of the former subjects described things. They had few metaphors for things. Jinglyshine, tongueflaps, handlending... Things were what they were, and it was easy enough to understand by the basic descriptors given. Glace found it endearing, in a way. It reminded him of how he used to refer to things that were new and unfamiliar when he was first sent out of Occidens to immerse in Eorzean society. Sometimes he even found himself falling back on it like an old habit when speaking with the Goblins.

"Understone..."

It was hard to know where the term first came about, or from who, but it was spoken time and again until it caught on. Their "nameless home" simply became "Understone" and it stuck.

Now that it had a name, Glace started to wonder if it was time to slowly start inviting others in. They could sustain themselves to a degree, but they would still benefit from the help of their neighbors.

Thus, taking a cue from some of the Tribes, he started working on a new plan. The others would benefit most from crafters and gathers to teach them so they could become truly self-sustaining and secure their future.

Lore dump! (For those who like it :) )

The Underground is ruled by four diamonds: Yellow (Asgore), Blue Toriel), White (Asriel), and an honorary Red Diamond (Chara). While I have lore for White and Red, I'm going to save that for when I post their designs^^

Asgore is the leader and the biggest, similar to how White Diamond was the head honcho in Steven Universe.

The Diamonds, while still being large, are much smaller than in Steven Universe (About 3x the size of a pearl)

Asgore and Toriel are the oldest monsters/gems. They emerged around the same time.

Asgore has his gemstone on his chest because he can let his emotions take control (he was unable to find the courage to cross the barrier with the first human soul, and he was reluctant to kill Frisk). He also wears a crown to symbolize the level-headedness and intelligence of a leader (monsters with a gemstone there tend to have more of those traits)

Toriel's gemstone is in the middle of her back. No matter what stage of life she's in she's constantly looking back on the previous stages of her life (moreso in this au). She was heartbroken at the death of her children and ran away, wanting to live alone in their long-forgotten home on Ruins. In order to avoid being bothered by other monsters in her immense grief, she changed her form to appear as a sapphire (design coming soon). When she and Sans tell knock-knock jokes, it's through a broken communicator (the visuals glitch to the point where you can't see anything, but the audio is fine).

Undertale but everyone is stoned

The butterscotch pie is an edible

Flowey (whilst actually being stoned himself) is an irresponsible trip sitter for frisk

WD Ghaster is the original garden grower

Alphys took over the business

Toriel left Asgore because he smoked all her pot one time and cost her loads of G.

Undyne is the pot police, she makes sure everyone is responsible

Papyrus and Sans can only have edibles because they’re skeletons but Papyrus tries to smoke anyways, even tho it doesn’t work but he wants to smoke like Undyne

The CORE is the growing spot

Metaton is like the mascot for Alphys’ weed strain

Muffet is a rival to Alphys’ business. Very good stuff but way too expensive

The “six human souls” are pure drugs

Orange: Ket

Blue: Cocaine

Purple: Heroine

Green: Weed (purest form)

Yellow: Shroom

Red (Frisk): Acid

True Pacifist is where frisk is just chill and at the end everyone shares their weed and Muffet even shares some of their stuff but then Flowey takes the 6 pure drugs and everyone else’s drugs too, causing him go fucking insane and for everyone to start going through withdrawal. Asriel realises he can finally feel empathy and emotion because of the drugs he’s on and gives it all back.

Neutral route is where Frisk sometimes takes someone else’s pot but isn’t too rude. If you steal Papyrus’s pot, Sans will hate you. Asgore will then fight you because you want his 6 drugs and he wants to add your soul drug to his 6 to finally achieve the ultimate high. Flowey then steals the 6 drug souls and trips balls until he overdoses and Frisk either stays with sans and smokes or hides if they stole papyrus’s weed.

Genocide: Frisk steals ALL the weed. Every monster has weed and Frisk takes it. Frisk is an addict. Frisk doesn’t get a chance to even get the good stuff from Muffet because she dips. Frisk gets more high and insane throughout the story that even Flowey can’t keep up and is concerned for Frisk and for his own stash. Sans fights frisk because of how much weed they stole. Sans isn’t actually fast and good at dodging, Frisk is just too high to aim properly. But when Sans is fully tired out Frisk takes his weed. They effortlessly steal Asgore’s weed and the 6 pure drugs and Frisk takes them all and starts to get the ultimate high but before they can do anything, they OD
