13) What’s something that you know this year, that you didn’t know last year?

“Huh? Oh, I dunno, lots of things I’m sure.” Kincade frowned for a second and sipped their coffee. It was always a calming drink, never quite so energizing the way it seemed to be for other people. More like tea. “I guess... I guess I read something recently about- about what gender looks like across the world. I thought it was sort of all the same but it’s not. That’s- that’s pretty cool, right? Never knew about any of that before.”

🌱 almost you - what is the song that describes you best? 

nobody. is it cheesy? sure. is it sad? yes. is it true? absolutely.

🍀 tender charm - who are you most vulnerable with? 

there are few people who maggie feels completely safe opening up to. of course, the first to come to mind is hannah yelley. hannah was the first person to believe maggie when she talked about gideon’s friend stealing her father. she’s been attached the the other woman ever since. there’s something about the cigarette smoke and the matter-of-fact mysticism that removes all sense of doubt from maggie’s mind. she trusts hannah completely.

do they wake up groggy or alert? do they like mornings? 

it takes maggie about five minutes to fully wake up. her alarm will go off, she’ll shut it off, and slowly, slowly, slowly pull herself out of bed. once her feet hit the floor, she’s good to go. it’s just the getting out of bed that’s tricky.

do they like the room cold or hot when they sleep? 

cold. maggie’s a blanket fiend.

what’s their dream job / profession? do they have one? 

she dreams, still, of being seated in the back of a sold-out theater in the moment before the curtain rises. knowing a room full of people are about to watch a story she wrote unfold. in the daydream, she isn’t nervous. she feels confident. she knows, as the curtain lifts, that someone is about to experience a catharsis because of what she helped create.
