So, I haven’t seen any hate yet this year, but Frans Week has only just started. This is just a reminder that, even if you don’t like or agree with a ship, that doesn’t mean you have any right to attack those who enjoy this ship or send hate to the creators who are making these wonderful works of art.

Now, obviously I’m not condoning pedophilia. If both characters are of legal age (or the same age if you’re doing a child AU), or if it’s a platonic or familial relationship, then who cares? As long as they’re both consenting, just leave them be. Let these people enjoy their ship and the creations that are spawned by said ship.

(4) UNDERTALE AU MERCH PERMISSION MASTERLIST.

Recently people have been coming to me expressing their worries about creating merchandise. They are unsure if they are allowed to produce products. Here is displayed written permission for UF/US/SF/FS. Extra screenshots provided by a good friend of mine, Kuma san as well as Nise. Thank you, both of you! Seeing as how Atlantale is occurring soon (02/10/2018) as well as Japan’s second UT event VERY SOON (07/2017), I thought I would put this together for the benefit for all. Kuma san has told me that Japan artists are VERY sensitive for permission and their first event was VERY STRICTLY Undertale only and NO AU’S. I hope this will furthermore help and encourage other artists to create their own products without fear!

Attention UT Fandom

So like with any other fandom, there are ships that some people love and some people hate, for many reasons. It’s fine to dislike or even be disgusted by some ships, but please do not go out of your way to tell artists your negative opinions! If you would feel disappointed seeing one of your favorite artists drawing content you don’t agree with, keep it to yourself and silently unfollow if it makes you uncomfortable enough.

“But I feel strongly about the content they are drawing and it’s just.. wrong!”

So what? They are drawing for themselves and not for you. These artists aren’t going around and pushing their views on others. They are merely posting to share with those who would enjoy. Note that most of these artists have disclaimers on their blogs and tag properly to ensure only the appropriate audiences will come across it. If they are tagging improperly, just let them know calmly like “Oh sorry to bother you but just letting you know any NSFW undertale content should not be tagged as undertale, but as undertail instead”.

You can’t help what you like and dislike, and that’s okay. Heck, even the artists themselves might have had a hard time accepting that they like what they like (trust me on this one). Attacking them does absolutely nothing positive and makes them feel awful for doing nothing wrong. Remember that these are fictional characters and what people may enjoy in fanworks does not reflect what they approve of in real life.

if you don’t like something an artist creates, don’t follow and don’t bash.

PSA to Undertale Artists

If you draw Frisk and/or Chara, I recommend you block chocolateunicorn65, awesomeman456, ask-rainbowcookies, and beyondhumanliving now.

What is going on?

Tumblr user chocolateunicorn65 / awesomeman456 / ask-rainbowcookies / beyondhumanliving is going around and requesting pretty much every artist on this site who draws Frisk and/or Chara to draw Frisk and/or Chara as black. It looks like they are requesting as anon too. Not only are they going around asking everyone, they are doing so incessantly.

Why is this an issue?

The issue is NOT that someone wants to see black representation through Frisk and/or Chara. That’s completely fine and I like seeing different artist interpretations of these characters. However, (1) requesting artists to draw something without them explicitly stating they are open for requests is rude and (2) even if they are open to asks, requesting specific gender and/or race for the characters is a no-no. Why? Each artist has the right to portray these fictional characters however they want. Even if you don’t agree with it, they are the creators and they are not creating for you!

Asking once and getting told “no” should be enough, however this user isn’t taking no for an answer. They have threatened to self-harm because they feel like an awful person for requesting. This is serious guilt-tripping and is NOT okay. They have also used racial slurs in response and have insinuated that the characters (and artists maybe?) themselves are racist. I have messaged them personally asking them politely to stop. Others have also told them to stop in their own ways (some more aggressive than others). However, it seems this user is still going strong with their requests…

Who has been targeted?

I am sure there are many more out there, but these are some users I know who have been contacted: @yaya0709, @notsafefromchara, @sayhellochara, @digeridoodler, @fenrier, @bluhkiel, @dreamy-94, @hawker-rawr, @fallen-determination, @underchara

What should NOT be done?

Please do NOT get upset at people who want to see more art of black Frisk/Chara. Everyone has the right to like different interpretations/representations of these characters. Heck, being half-black myself, I think it’d be cool to see some artwork of that but I’m not going to randomly go up to artists and ask for it. If I wanted it that bad I can draw it for myself or commission someone for it if they’ve established they are totally comfortable with it.

What should be done?

Please spread the word and let your friends know. I am also totally okay with you adding onto this post or translating into a different language if you think this will reach more artists that way!

Why do people want to make love to the skeletons

Honestly though, one is a small and round and makes jokes that even Adam Sandler would deem low and the other acts like an 10 year old and doesn't even know what 'sex' is. Also Sans is too lazy to do such a task. And there's the fact that Sans has such limited expressions so that blank smile would be the only reaction you get. alsO DON'T FORGET SKELETONS DON'T HAVE REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS. (Yeah I know this is tumblr and no one will care)

ok ok hello hello im aware i dont usually make posts! well surprise

i really, really want to say that frisk is nonbinary

theyre canonically referred to as they/them and the fact of the matter is that there really arent many nonbinary protags so this is really important

some other nb characters in undertale include the unnamed monster kid and napstablook!! both of them use they/them as far as i know

please stop gendering nb characters, theyre really important to me and im pretty sure the wide nb community becaue there really arent that many nonbinary characters in media, much less as protags
