the velociraptor & i really enjoy establishing blorbo voiceclaims for reasons & purposes. Astarion is a very funny standard choice for Rouxls, & there are a couple of fansong artists who sing beautifully & do hilarious voices for him that mostly only differ in pitch - i love the singing aspect of him, that little operatic bit in his theme is so slay. (bro is good at things, he is just fixated on stuff he sucks at... it's fine... we've all been there... artists trying to do mainstream work are almost always walking disasters...)
a n y w a y last week i was thinking to myself, as one does, "what if he sounded like Ye Olde Ed Wynn" (i think i like my men to speak in a way that's reminiscent of two cats hopping around on a piano keyboard) & yesterday my wife found another one of those voice headcanon videos where the compiler had used Jeff Bennett as Choose Goose from Adventure Time for Rouxls, which is a spot-on Ed Wynn impression. i sat up in my chair so fast my brain sloshed in my skull (that's a little IIH Humor For You)
i think it's so screamingly funny when a devastatingly hot guy is a goofy weird idiot & i also think it's so good that we have so many auditory ghosts that live on in modern cartoons because there's no reason for Escargoon to sound like a bitchy Charles Nelson Reilly/Paul Lynde midcentury Hollywood nudge-wink "confirmed bachelor" type in an early 2000s anime dub but someone decided that & it's beautiful. no reason for so many villains to follow the exact Dr. Terwilliker blueprint & yet... i love it when pop culture outlives itself to the degree that generations so far removed continue to fall in love with long-gone stars & old Vaudeville stock without knowing exactly why. warms my cold dead heart 🖤 those personalities are just that endearing & enduring.
incidentally Ed Wynn was quite a storied lover in his time, the ladies wanted to Capital F - U - C - K that clown. iconic. he looked like this. please do not mistake my amusement for disagreement
the velvet is here, smelling of pure olfactory discord (it is from an estate sale & so the bouquet can only be described as a multitude of clashing grandma soaps - Savon de Marseille type of thing & a bunch of weirdass out-of-fashion florals) which i cannot say is out of character at all & personally i find it pleasant but i respect those who share space with me too much to let him reek 💙
so he's in the wash (which everyone should do anyway with newly obtained fabric) but i am not totally sure it will come out LOL oh well. here's to the assertiveness of this fabric that it's Him 💙 no right-minded individual would smell like this on purpose (i need a more powerful heart emoji) 💙🖤🤍
there's like a critical mass i achieve on here where i apparently forget that an entire baker's dozen of alive entities human & elsewise can see the weird things i am saying but it's too late & the reaction is by then unstoppable, anything else i do is just maintenance
