Gar looked down at the deck of cards laid out in front of him. Back at Doom Manor, he snuck into a game store and stole a few deck of cards labeled Magic: The Gathering, when he was fourteen.
The green-haired nineteen-year-old smiled at the memory. When we was living with the Titans, him and Rachel played all the time. He even got Jason to play a round or two. Dick and Donna played a few games (having played them in their youth), and they taught Kory. Although Dawn and Rose came in and defeated them in every round they played. Rose’s older brother, Joey, had taught her, and all the strategies that helped him win so many games with old friends. Dawn had quickly picked up how the game worked when she first played with her girlfriend and fellow Titan, Donna, which caused the platinum blonde to come up with new strategies she taught to the dark-haired-brunette.
Jon smiled as he walked into the room, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend’s waist, kissing his head in the process, “Reminiscing about Magic again?” He asked with a glint in his eye, “Can you teach me?” The curly-blond asked, puppy-dog eyes staring down at his boyfriend, a trick from Gar’s own book.
The nineteen-year-old grinned, “Sure! We could invite the Titans sometime for game night! Oh, and your family too, if they want to.” He rambled while rubbing circles with his thumb on Jon’s hand.
The curly-haired nineteen-year-old chuckled at his boyfriends’ excitement, happy to see joy in his eyes.
As Jon looked down at the cards, his eyes landed on an old card box that once held X-Files trading cards a long time ago, “Hey, my dad and I used to watch that show all the time whenever we could.” He exclaimed while pointing at the small box.
The green-haired young man’s eyes lit up as he saw what his boyfriend was pointing to, “Cool beans! Maybe we could watch a few episodes one day?” He suggested with a bright smile.
Jon hummed as he started massaging his boyfriends’ head, “Of course, babe.” He whispered before leaning his cheek on Gar’s head, “My dad would adore your dad. They seem like they could kick ass and take names.” The nineteen-year-old commented while staring off into space.
Gar chuckled, making Jon’s head move slightly, “The leader of the Titans and Earth’s Champion? They’ll never see it coming.” He joked, referencing to when Din Djarin met Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian.
The curly-haired young man looked down at his boyfriend, “Mmmm a Star Wars reference?” He guessed. Jon had seen bits and pieces of the space western, but hadn’t watched a full episode through, yet.
The green-haired nineteen-year-old grinned, “I’ve taught you well, Starboy.” He teased, making Jon chuckle, “But it would be cool if they did meet.”
Jon hummed as he began to rub circles around his boyfriends’ waist, “That’d be nice.” He commented thoughtfully, “I bet everyone would adore your family, especially dad.”
Gar’s eyes began to sparkle, “Mine too! Guess that’s another reason why we’re perfect for each other.” The green-haired young man smiled lazily before kissing Jon’s head, giving him large puppy dog eyes.
The curly-haired ninteen-year-old grinned as he leaned down, capturing his boyfriend’s lips in a soft passionate kiss.
Suddenly, the green-haired young adult felt himself sinking as strong arms wrapped around his waist and soft lips were attached to his, but he didn’t mind, because the curly-haired son of Superman would make sure he landed safely on the floor.
After a few seconds, Jon pulled away slowly, opening his eyes, staring down into Gar’s eyes, “I could get lost in your eyes for hours.” He breathed out before nuzzling his nose inbetween his boyfriend’s collarbone and his shoulder.
Gar let out a giggle, “Okay, babe, if we don’t get up now, I’m not gonna be able to later.” He breathed out as his eye closed in joy. Serotonin was coursing through his veins, and he never wanted it to end.
Jon hummed, making his boyfriend’s eyes shoot open, “Seriously, babe.” He chuckled while running a hand through his blond hair.
The blond sighed before slowly lifting himself up, but dipped down to kiss Gar’s forehead, “Fine, you win, baby, but I want you to know I’m a fast learner, so I’ll definitely win a few rounds.’ He pulled back with a smirk and a raised brow before quickly standing up, already running out of their small hobby room.
His green-haired boyfriend laughed before getting up, and running after him, laughing all the way, “Come back here, Starboy.” He teased before reaching out for the curly-blond, snaking his arms around his waist before picking him up and spinning around, making Jon laugh in return.
Jon barked out a large laugh, “Okay, okay, Garbear, you’re the master of the game!” He exclaimed a little too loud for his liking, making him close his eyes, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to be that loud.” The nineteen-year-old whispered.
Gar put his curly-haired boyfriend down slowly, arms still around his waist before leaning in, “You’re fine, baby. Hey, look at me.” He coaxed while putting both hands on Jon’s cheeks, rubbing both his thumbs slowly against his skin.
The curly-haired nineteen-year-old leaned his forehead against Gar’s before opening his eyes. Truth be told, he could get lost in the green-haired young man’s eyes for hours.
Suddenly, Jon leaned in and connected his lips to Gar’s in a soft, passionate kiss, causing comfort to slip into the curly-haired nineteen-year-old’s heart.
Once Gar pulled back, a grin overtook his features, “Ready to play some Magic, Spaceboy?” He asked quietly, not wanting the air to become strangled with loud noises again.
Jon nodded while blinking at his green-haired boyfriend, “Yeah, I’d like that a lot.”
A few hours passed and the two young men had finished their second round.
Jon sat back in his seat with a smirk, “Okay, that was fun.” He exclaimed while pointing at his boyfriend.
Gar grinned before rushing to Jon’s side, nuzzling his nose on his boyfriend’s cheek, “M’glad. You did great, Starboy.” He purred after climbing in his lap.
The curly-haired nineteen-year-old smiled as he wrapped his arms around Gar’s waist, “Thanks, Garbear, I wouldn’t have gotten far without you, though.” He praised softly while leaning down to kiss his forehead.
The green-haired nineteen-year-old smiled while closing his eyes, happy to be in his lover’s arms, “I love you, Jon.”
Jon beamed while smoothing out his hair, “I love you too, Gar.”
I haven't read this in awhile and it melted my heart it was so cute!
My parents taught me to play Magic: The Gathering as a kid, and I still have my deck.
